THE BIGGEST THREAT TO THE OPPOSITION IS NOT TINUBU — IT IS DIVISION.
The more I observe Nigerian politics ahead of 2027, the more convinced I become that the biggest advantage President Tinubu has is not even APC’s strength — it is the inability of the opposition to unite.
Every serious political analyst understands one thing: when several strong candidates contest against one incumbent, the opposition votes become divided, and the ruling party gains the upper hand. That is simple political mathematics. A united opposition with one formidable candidate would pose a serious challenge, but multiple contenders only make the path easier for Tinubu’s second-term ambition.
This is why many Nigerians are beginning to ask difficult questions. If politicians like Peter Obi and Kwankwaso truly understand the current political reality, why does it still seem impossible for the opposition to rally around one platform and one candidate? Why the constant movement from coalition talks to party calculations and personal political structures?
Politics is not just about popularity; it is about strategy, negotiation, sacrifice, and timing. The APC understands this very well and appears to be playing the long game. While the opposition remains divided over ambitions and party interests, Tinubu and his allies are busy consolidating power and preparing ahead.
Some people may disagree, but history has shown repeatedly that divided opposition hardly defeats a sitting government in Nigeria. If the opposition enters 2027 fragmented, emotionally driven, and unable to compromise, then they may hand Tinubu another victory before the first ballot is even cast.
At this point, Nigerians are watching closely. The question is no longer who is popular; the real question is who is willing to put collective national interest above personal ambition.
2027 will be decided not only by votes, but by unity, political maturity, and strategic thinking.

DON’T TURN RAIN INTO A TRASH CHANNEL.
We caught people tipping their dustbins directly into flowing rainwater. It might look like the waste “disappears”—but here’s what really happens:
❌ Plastic & chemicals wash straight into rivers and oceans – no treatment, just pollution.
❌ Clogged drains cause worse flooding – your trash blocks the system downstream.
❌ Mosquitoes & diseases thrive in rotting, stagnant garbage.
❌ Fines and cleanup costs fall on the whole community.
Do these instead:
✅ Store waste in covered bins, even if collection is delayed.
✅ Compost organic scraps.
✅ Report blocked drains, don’t add to them.
✅ Rain or shine, never dump – it always comes back to haunt you.

NASARAWA APC SHOWDOWN: THE BATTLE OF THE KOKONA TITANS!
By Dahiru Haliru Barau
The APC primary election for the Karu/Keffi/Kokona Federal Constituency delivered exactly what many political observers expected — intense competition, strategic mobilization, and a major political upset.
Two heavyweight lawmakers from Kokona LGA squared off for the APC House of Representatives ticket:
• Dr. Danladi Jatau (Kokona West): Speaker of the Nasarawa State House of Assembly
Leveraged his position as Speaker and his political network across the state
Highlighted his legislative record, including efforts to stabilize and unite the Assembly
Distributed over 32 motorcycles to party officials and ward stakeholders across the three LGAs
Campaigned on experience, continuity, and quality representation
• Hon. Daniel Ogazi (Kokona East): Chairman, House Committee on Rules and Business
Built strong grassroots support across the constituency
Focused his campaign on accessibility, youth and women empowerment, and community engagement
Promised people-oriented representation and responsive leadership
Widely regarded as a grassroots mobilizer with strong local connections
The APC conducted direct primaries across Nasarawa State on May 16, 2026, after the party ruled out consensus arrangements. Reports described the exercise as largely peaceful despite heightened political tension.
Hon. Daniel Ogazi emerged victorious!
According to results announced by the APC Primary Election Committee chaired by Musa Shuaibu Guri, Ogazi polled 13,083 votes to defeat Speaker Danladi Jatau, who scored 5,873 votes.
Ogazi’s victory is being interpreted by many observers as a major grassroots triumph and one of the biggest upsets of the Nasarawa APC primaries.
Political analysts say the outcome could reshape the internal power dynamics of the APC in Nasarawa West ahead of the 2027 general elections. While Jatau remains an influential figure within the party and government, Ogazi’s strong showing demonstrates the growing importance of grassroots mobilization in the state’s politics.
What do you think?
Did the grassroots defeat establishment power?
Will this outcome strengthen APC unity in Nasarawa or deepen internal rivalries ahead of 2027?
