ABU Remedial Admission 2017/2018 Session Announced
This is to inform the general public that the Ahmadu Bello University (ABU) Remedial Studies application form for the 2017/2018 academic session is out.
Catchment Area
The School being established by the Northern State Governments is open to all interested applicants from the 19 Northern States and the Federal Capital Territory (FCT), Abuja.
Entry Requirements
Candidates aspiring to gain admission in Ahmadu Bello University Zaria via SBRS’s Remedial programme must:
Successfully sit and pass the pre-admission test examined by SBRS at Funtua.
Have obtained at least three (3) credits and two (2) pass in English Language, General Mathematics, Biology, Chemistry, Geography and Physics in WAEC and or NECO.
The remedial section of the school also organizes
JAMB CLINIC
classes for all students and SPECIAL classes for students with deficiencies in their O-Levels.
The Remedial programme generally last for Nine (9) months divided into two semesters. During this period, students are exposed to intensive lectures from Mondays to Thursdays every week and a weekly C.A. test on Fridays.
GROUPS & SUBJECT COMBINATIONS
All successfully admitted and registered students are placed into one of the four (4) academic groups:- RS1, RS2, RS3 or RS4. Each student is given a group by considering his/her intended feature carrier and the O-Level credits obtained. Courses in each group are:
RS1:- Biology, Chemistry and Geography
RS2:- Biology, Chemistry and Physics
RS3:- Biology, Geography and Physics
RS4:- Chemistry, Geography and Physics
Note:
English Language and General Mathematics are compulsory for all students apart from the subject combinations they are expected to offer in their various groups.
Entry Requirements Into The University After Completion Of The Programme
Admission in Ahmadu Bello University, Zaria is automatic provided a student successfully completes the remedial programme as follows:
Obtained a minimum of 2.0 CGPA from 3 subjects undertook at the school.
Choose ABU Zaria as first choice in JAMB and has also obtained the required JAMB scores (which is generally determined by JAMB) and
Remedied all necessary O-Level deficiencies.
Method Of Application
-Interested applicants are to go to any of the following designated Banks nationwide to obtain an “E-Transaction Pin” in order to apply.
-You are to pay the sum of N 5, 000 at any of the following Banks viz: ABU Micro Finance Bank, First Bank, Unity Bank, UBA Bank and Zenith Bank for your “E - Transaction Pin” which the Bank will generate and print for you.
-Visit:www.sbrsabu.org website and click on the “Application” link from the Menu.
-A pop up dialogue box will open for you, requesting your “Teller Number” and “E-Transaction Pin” for validation.
- Complete the form as required.
Note: Uploading your picture (120px x 120px and 40kb) is required.
-After completing the form, a print preview page will be displayed for you to print. Simply click on the “Print” button to print your form. Print at least 2 copies for your perusal.
-You are to print your “Pre-Entrance Exam Card” in two (2) copies from the website also.
-You may wish to “reprint” or “edit” your submitted form, by visiting the “Application” link again.

The 2016 May/June results of the West African Senior School Certificate Examination (WASSCE) were released on Friday, August 5, 2016.
The examinations body announced that it withheld the results of 137,295 candidates, representing 8.89 per cent of those who took the examinations.
This, according to Olu Adenipekun, the Head, Nigeria National Office, was due to examination malpractice.
“The cases are being investigated and reports of the investigations will be presented to the appropriate committee of the Council in due course for consideration,” he said.
The exams body said that of the 1, 552, 758 students who sat for the May/June exams, 878,040 candidates, representing 52.97 per cent, obtained credits in five (5) subjects and above, including English Language and Mathematics.
“A total of 1,014,573 candidates, representing 65.70 per cent obtained six credits and above, 1,167,484 candidates, representing 75.60 per cent obtained five credits and above. While 1,282,204 candidates, representing 83.03 per cent obtained credit and above in four subjects,” it said.
“1,370,049 candidates, representing 88.72 per cent obtained credit and above in three subjects, 1,438,679 candidates, representing 93.16 per cent obtained credit and above in two subjects,” he said.
On its Twitter page, WAEC Nigeria announced on Friday evening that the malpractice cases were being investigated and reports of the investigation would be presented to the appropriate committee of the Council in due course.

LASU Admission Screening 2016: Eligibility, Screening And Registration Details
Applications are invited from qualified candidates for the Lagos State University 2016/2017 Admission Screening Exercise, for candidates seeking admission via UTME (100 level). These screening exercises are mandatory requirements for entry into Lagos State University.
There shall be two rounds of Admission Screening Exercise.
2. ELIGIBILITY
A. Candidates who have Lagos State University as their Choice of institution in the 2016 Unified Tertiary Matriculation Examinations (UTME), and have scored a minimum of 190 marks are eligible to participate in the Admission Screening Exercises. In addition, candidates must be at least 16 years of age.
B. ALL Direct Entry candidates who wish to be considered for admission into Lagos State University for the 2016/2017 academic session, who must have obtained Direct Entry Form from JAMB are also eligible and must apply for the screening exercise. However, these applicants are EXEMPTED from the Admission Screening. Online registration is compulsory for them.
C. Candidates of Lagos State Origin, for 100 & 200 levels will be required (if admitted) to prove their claims before the Independent Indigeneship Verification Committee (lIVC) set up by the Lagos State University.
D. Candidates should note that ONLY the accredited courses listed below are available for the 2016/2017 Academic Session. Therefore, only candidates that have chosen any of the underlisted
courses should apply.

3. METHOD OF APPLICATION
A. ONLINE PAYMENT
1. Prospective students will visit www.screening.lasu.edu.ng and select MAKE PAYMENT option in the drop down list at the top, to make the required payment of N5,000 for the 2016/2017 LASU Admission Screening Exercise.
The prospective students would be required to submit the following:
a. JAMB Registration Number
b. Surname, First name, Middle name
c. Email Address and telephone number (both must be active and personal to the applicant)
2. Click on PROCEED
3. On the next page, a TRANSACTION ID to be used for PAYMENT would be displayed. The candidate should copy this TRANSACTION ID and proceed for PAYMENT at http://www.quickteller.com/lasu
4. On http://www.quickteller.com/lasu page,
(i) Click on PAY
(ii) Enter your email address, GSM number.
(iii) Also enter the Transaction ID copied in step 3 above
(iv) Proceed to enter details of your ATM card
(v) Click Process payment
(vi) Print your Payment receipt from the screen. A transaction message will be sent to your email and GSM, hence the need to use your personal E-rnail address and GSM number.
B. SCREENING EXERCISE REGISTRATION
1. After successful payment for LASU 2016/2017 Admission screening exercise, return to www.screening.lasu.edu.ng and select CONTINUE REGISTRATION option in the drop down list at the top.
2. Prospective candidates should enter the required details (JAMB Registration number, surname and Mode of Entry - UME or DE).
3. Click on PROCEED button to load the Registration Form.
Each applicant is expected to complete the registration form by providing the following information.
· Candidates will be required to upload a scanned copy of their passport size photograph (File Size: Not more than 20KB; File format: JPEG [i.e. ‘jpg’]). Application for change of passport photograph by candidates given provisional admission shall NOT be allowed. This same passport photograph, uploaded by such candidates, will be used on their degree certificates.
· ONLY ONE CHOICE OF COURSE OF STUDY IS ALLOWED
· Carefully study the agreement form. If you agree to the stated terms, click on the 'I agree’ button on the left-hand side of the page.
Note: If you do not agree to the stated terms you will not be permitted to go beyond this point. Please read and understand the terms before registering.
· Fill in all required details contained on the online registration form. Confirm THAT DETAILS ARE ACCURATE then click FINISH. To make changes, before you click finish, you may click on the Edit button.
· Candidates must possess five (5) O' Level credits in subjects relevant to their desired course of study at not more than two sittings.
· Credit in English Language is compulsory for admission into all courses in Lagos State University.
· Candidates awaiting the result of NABTEB, WAEC (May/June) and NECO (June/July) 2016, are eligible to apply. Note that any examination taken after July 2016 shall not be accepted.
· Make sure you print your Registration Form/Slip as this serves as your entry ticket into the screening hall.
Candidates are advised also to come to the screening venue with their JAMB Original Result slip that has their passport photograph on it. If you do not have this document, click here to get yours
· Candidate should know that both payment and registration would end two [2] weeks before the advertised date of the Screening Exercises.
· Candidate should visit www.screening.lasu.edu.ng a week before the advertised date of the Screening Tests to check the Sitting Arrangement and reprint the Registration Slip.
Registration for the payment of application fee for the Admission Screening Exercise starts from Thursday, June 9, 2016 and registration closes Friday, June 24, 2016.
Applicants for the LASU 2016/2017 Admission Screening Exercise should NOTE that the screening will be conducted using the newly developed "LASU-COMPUTER BASED TEST (CBT) SOFTWARE".
All applicants are therefore advised to re-visit LASU Admission Screening Exercise portal as from JUNE 27 – JULY 3, 2016 to re-print their Admission Screening Identification Slip in order to know the venue, date and time of the screening.
Applicants who DID NOT choose LASU as the University of Choice in the 2016/2017 UTME are not eligible.
The detailed results of the screening shall be published on LASU website: www.lasu.edu.ng immediately after each day of screening.
