POV: You’re going to the hospital… but you’re bringing everything.
For many sickle cell warriors, a hospital visit doesn’t start at the hospital.
It starts with preparation.
Not just mentally, but physically.
Packing drugs.
Extra drugs.
Water.
Food.
Even basic supplies you’d expect to find there.
Because experience has taught you one thing:
it’s better to come prepared than be caught off guard.
This is the reality for many.
Quiet. Normalised. Often unseen.
We’re starting a new series that explores how everyday experiences in Nigeria feel different when you’re living with sickle cell.
Same Lagos. Different reality.

Five years in, and we’re pausing.
To reflect on the work—
the impact made,
the gaps revealed,
the lessons still shaping us.
This journey has always been about learning, listening, building with care, and doing what we can — with dignity and intention.
As we step into a new year and the next chapter, our focus remains clear:
Continuity over one-off aid,
Dignity at the centre,
Community, always.
Thank you for five years of walking with us.🤍

Ntetee’s Angel Tree Wishlist is officially live! 🎄🤍
We collected Christmas wishes from children aged 5–12 living with sickle cell in Lagos… and now, we’re opening those wishes up to you.
Some wished for toys.
Many wished for school bags.
A few wished for electronic devices.
All wished with hope.
If you’d like to brighten a child’s Christmas this year, you can now pick a wish from our public wishlist.
