In 1859, petroleum was first successfully drilled by Edwin L. Drake in Titusville, Pennsylvania, USA. This marked the beginning of the modern petroleum industry. Petroleum quickly became one of the most efficient energy sources, producing a high amount of energy per ounce of liquid when burned.

Zuma Rock: The Second Largest Monolith in the World

Zuma Rock, located in Niger State, Nigeria, is the second-largest monolith on Earth, after Uluru (Ayers Rock) in Australia. Standing at a towering height of 725 meters (2,379 feet) above sea level, Zuma Rock dominates the landscape just north of Nigeria’s capital, Abuja. Its base covers an area of about 3.1 kilometers (1.9 miles) in circumference, making it an imposing natural structure.
