I've seen a clip where Omah Lay performed his "Soso" track to a Nigerian crowd, and everywhere went Gaga!

The crowd cheerfully sang along, danced and waved their hands in the air, to the rhythm of the song.

Last night I saw another clip where he performed the same song in France with the same stage energy, but guess what?.

The crowd were as stiff as robots, staring him blandly like he was a joke.

The vibe from them was ZERO.

Same song, different crowd, different reactions.

I wouldn't blame them anyway because I sat back and imagined a French artist from France, performing in Lagos, Nigeria.

They'd give him similar or worse vibes.

Same thing is applicable while building on SOCIAL MEDIA.

Build the wrong audience and have them watch you like the French folks watched Omah Lay doing what he knows best.

Build the right audience and have them genuinely lust after you like the Nigerians did when Omah Lay performed to them.

Believe it, or not. Your audience is EVERYTHING.
