Mame is proof that being a mentee in the Pledge for Nature Launchpad can propel your climate leadership career to new heights.
In 2025, Mame joined the Pledge for Nature Launchpad as a mentee from Senegal.
She worked closely with her mentor to develop her project ideas and her vision for a sustainable future in Africa. Now, she is making a difference, one step at a time.
On this International Day of Biological Diversity, we are celebrating her work addressing soil degradation, water shortages, and lower crop yields. Through BioHeroïnes, a women-led group that turns organic waste into biogas and fertiliser in Senegal’s groundnut basin, she works to create practical solutions for her community and encourages youth leadership and environmental awareness both locally and beyond.
