Swallow will always be more than just a film to me.
It is deeply personal.

Set in the 1980s, it took me back to my childhood days in Ebute Metta… the streets, the energy, the people, the struggles, the dreams, and the little details that shaped my imagination as a young boy.

This film also marked a special milestone in my journey — my first official credit as a Production Designer. Beyond directing the story, I became completely immersed in recreating an era that still lives vividly in my memory. From the architecture, costumes, buses, props, colors, signage, and textures of old Lagos, every detail mattered.

Rebuilding the spirit of the 80s was challenging, exciting, emotional, and deeply fulfilling all at once. It was truly a labor of love.

One of the greatest joys of the journey was collaborating with such an incredible cast and dedicated crew, whose passion and commitment helped bring this world to life so beautifully. Their energy, talent, and belief in the vision made the experience even more special for me.

Swallow was my way of preserving memories, culture, and a time that helped shape who I am today.
