🔤 The braille system you might use every day - on elevator buttons, medicine bottles, and ATMs - was created by a teenage boy who lost his sight at age 3.

Louis Braille simplified an existing 12-dot military code into the efficient 6-dot system in 1824. He went on to develop codes for letters, numbers, and even musical notation.
