I honestly don’t understand alcohol. Like… somebody should please explain it to me because it will never make sense in my head 😅.

First of all, it’s not sweet. In fact, it’s bitter! The kind of bitter that makes your face squeeze involuntarily after one sip 😂. And yet, people carry their own hard-earned money and confidently buy it. Meanwhile, there are plenty of juices, smoothies, malt, soft drinks—things that are actually sweet and refreshing—just waiting to be enjoyed.

So I’m just here thinking… is there a hidden sweetness somewhere in alcohol that my tongue has refused to locate? Or maybe the “enjoyment” is coded and only comes after you’ve drunk enough to stop tasting? Because sincerely, it feels like punishment in a bottle to me 😂.

And the funny thing is, the way people hype alcohol, you’d think it tastes like heaven in liquid form. But me, anytime I taste it, I’m just like, is this the thing people are fighting over? 🙆🏽‍♀️

Maybe it’s the vibe, maybe it’s peer pressure, maybe it’s the “feeling” it gives. I honestly don’t know. But one thing I know is this: alcohol and I can never be friends. Life is too short for me to be drinking bitterness when sweetness is available 😌.

So please, help me out here, educate me—what exactly am I missing?
Because right now, it can never make sense to me.
