20 powerful things every young woman should be doing in her 20s.

Your 20s are not just for vibes and pressure, they are for building a solid foundation for the woman you're becoming.

If you're single, married, in school, or working, this post is for you:

1. Discover Who You Are
Don’t let society define you. Explore, journal, pray, reflect. You are more than a title or trend. Keep distractions at bay.

2. Build Your Relationship with God
Faith keeps you grounded. Make time for devotion and community. Pray always, your life depends on it.

3. Learn Financial Literacy
Know how to save, budget, and invest. Avoid “get-rich-quick” scheme, it's a trap! You can start your investment journey with piggyvest or the cowriee app.

4. Acquire a High-Income Skill
Go digital: graphics, writing, coding, baking, anything valuable. Use YouTube, Coursera, or local training. (Follow this page to get many updates on relevant skills)

5. Smell and Look Fresh
Good hygiene is self-respect. Nice perfumes, good sosps/body wash, moisturizers, body oils for that shinee, water, deodorant, and you don't have to break the bank to achieve a good hygiene. Work with your budget.

6. Dress Smartly and Modestly
You don’t need to break the bank to look good. Learn your style and own it. Wash your clothes regularly, iron them. You don't need expensive materials if you can't afford them. There are so many trendy thrifts out there. Mix and match, you'll get excellent ideas on Pinterest.

7. Grow Your Emotional Intelligence
Don’t be toxic or reactive. Learn to understand and control your emotions. Don't rehearse whatever wrong that is done to you, keep your focus on things that will help you grow. Leave any toxic environment, no matter how attached you feel in these places.

8. Choose Friends with Sense
Surround yourself with people who grow your soul, not just your selfie folder. People who will cheer you, people who won't hide opportunities from you. People who won't see your growth as a threat to them.

9. Learn to Cook and Run a Home
It’s survival and independence. Get recipe books, watch cooking videos, try your hands on new recipes.

10. Travel and Explore (Even If It's Local)
New places open your mind. Visit cultural sites or plan mini road trips with friends who are in alignment with you. Traveling broadens your mind.

11. Care for Your Body and Health
Fitness doesn’t need a gym. Walk more, eat well, rest well. Invest in more fruits and vegetables, reduce your sugar intake, walk under the sun sometimes.

12. Learn to Say “NO”
Boundaries protect your peace. Practice saying it without guilt. Don't be guilt-tripped into anything that won't make you comfortable.

13. Build Your Personal Brand
People are watching you, whether you’re on social media or not. Show up wisely. Show up in your best, always strive to be an upgrade to what you currently are.

14. Avoid Toxic Relationships
A boyfriend is not a breakthrough. If it drains your peace, walk away. There is time for everything.

15. Keep Learning Beyond School
Life is your classroom. Read, take online courses, attend free webinars. Pick a skill and grow with it.

16. Improve How You Communicate
Talk well. Text well. Present well. It will open doors. Stop writing in short forms, write in full sentences, learn new words, read more books, always use your dictionary.

17. Volunteer and Give Back
Even with little, you can bless someone else. It might not be money, it could be a shoe or a dress. Be generous.

18. Understand Your Reproductive Health
Track your cycle. Ask questions. Don’t be ashamed to admit you don't know it.

19. Protect Your Mind
Social media isn’t real life. Take breaks, follow positive pages, stay grounded.

20. Plan Your Future Without Fear
Dream big. Take steps. Your future is possible. Do it afraid, no one is better than you.
Dear Sis, your 20s are not for wasting time on things that don’t build you. They are for discovering, healing, growing, and shining.

Which of these stood out to you most?
Let’s talk in the comments.
