Aspiring for a political seat should never make you an enemy to your brother.

Politics was never meant to destroy relationships. It was meant to create opportunities for service, representation, and development.

The moment we begin to see one another as enemies simply because of political ambition, then we have missed the purpose of leadership.

Contestants are only presenting themselves before the people, asking to be chosen — just as others were chosen before them. It is not a war. It is not a battle for hatred. It is simply a call to serve.

No position is worth destroying brotherhood, friendships, or peace. Today it may be your turn to aspire; tomorrow it may be another person’s turn.

Let us learn to compete with ideas, with vision, and with capacity — not with bitterness, insults, and division. Because when politics ends, we will still remain brothers, neighbors, and one people.

Why do most politicians fail to keep their promises?

This is a question many citizens continue to ask.

Because every election season comes with many promises — promises of better roads, better schools, better security, and a better future.

But sadly, after elections, many of those promises are forgotten.

Why?

Is leadership only about winning power, or is it about fulfilling the trust of the people?

Too often, politicians make promises just to gain support, not because they truly intend to keep them.

And when power finally comes, personal interests, greed, and political survival begin to take priority over the people.

What happened to accountability?

What happened to integrity?

What happened to the words spoken before the people?

A promise is not just a campaign statement.

It is a bond of trust.

And when that trust is broken repeatedly, the people begin to lose faith not just in leaders, but in the system itself.

The painful part is that the younger generation is watching.

They are learning that promises can be made without responsibility.

That words do not have to match actions.

But is it not high time we changed this?

Is it not time for leaders to act according to their promises?

A society can only grow when leaders value truth, accountability, and service.

Politics should not be about empty words.

It should be about impact.

Because at the end of the day, leadership is not remembered by promises made, but by promises fulfilled.

What is the fate of the next generation in Benue politics?

This is a question that should concern every parent, every youth, and every leader.

Because what we see today is troubling.

Politics in Benue is gradually becoming more about division than development.

More about camps than capacity.

More about insults than ideas.

More about personal loyalty than public interest.

And when politics becomes a battlefield of division, the future is always at risk.

What are the young ones learning?

That to succeed in politics, you must fight your brother?

That to rise, you must destroy another?

That noise, propaganda, and division matter more than vision and competence?

If this is the foundation being laid today, then what kind of political structure will the next generation inherit?

A broken one?

A bitter one?

A selfish one?

Politics was meant to be a tool for building people, communities, and the future.

But when it is used to create enemies instead of solutions, everyone loses.

Benue needs builders, not destroyers.

Benue needs bridge-makers, not division-makers.

Because if we keep planting division today, tomorrow’s harvest may be too dangerous for all of us.

The future of the next generation in Benue politics depends on what we choose to normalize now. 🖤💔
