In Islamic psychology, the heart (qalb) is the center of everything—it’s seen as the seat of the soul and the source of true understanding and peace.

Healing starts from the inside out, focusing on spiritual connection, self-purification, and aligning with Allah (swt).

Western psychology, on the other hand, focuses on the mind, using science to understand thoughts, emotions, and behaviors—working from the outside in to create change.

While both have their strengths, Islamic psychology beautifully integrates the heart and mind, showing that true healing happens when the two work together in harmony. 🌿❤️💭

I know I said “one vs the other,” but both need to work in tandem in order to sustain a holistic state of well being.

The Prophet (sal) used to meditate often in Cave Hira and “contemplation” is mentioned so many times in the Quran.

This is simply to increases awareness of the heart’s role as well.
