10 CARE JOB SPECIAL SLOTS AVAILABLE IN THE UK! π―
We have just secured 10 Care Job Special Slots for persons prepared and willing to relocate to the UK. I mentioned this partnership last week but it delayed as we wanted something that will help not only those in the UK but also Carers in Nigeria.
The jobs available are Healthcare Support Jobs (the best and easiest of Care Jobs) and this comes with a 5-year contract! π― The implication is that if you relocate on this Visa, it is an express route to becoming a UK π¬π§ permanent resident. A year later you can get your British Citizenship.
WHAT IS COS? π―
Certificate of Sponsorship (COS) is a document issued by a UK-based employer with which you can use to apply for your Tier-2 work visa, to enable you relocate and work with the employer in a specific role. Without a COS, you cannot apply for and get a work visa in the UK. With a COS, the chances of landing a Tier-2 work visa, barring any unforseen circumstances or previous negative immigration history, is as high as 98%.
How do you get a COS? The simplest answer is to land a job offer in the UK willing to sponsor a work visa, especially if you are outside the UK. To land this job, you will need to have made job applications, gotten an interview invite and smashed the interview. After getting a job offer, you will also need to have completed your documentation before your COS will be issued.
COS is free. Any fees to be paid is borne by your employer. Not all employers can sponsor Visas and recruit from abroad. Employers who can are issued sponsorship licenses by the UK Government and the amount of persons to be sponsored depends on the size of the company. Larger establishments can sponsor more persons while smaller companies can only sponsor a handful of employees.
Before 2022, only healthcare workers - mainly doctors, nurses, physiotherapists, radiographers, medical laboratory scientists - could land Tier-2 Visa sponsoring jobs from Nigeria be issued with a COS and relocate to the UK. The pathway for nurses to the UK is almost shut - agencies cannot recruit directly from Nigeria - and it is also getting difficult to secure Nursing jobs as an individual.
Earlier this year, Care Workers (Healthcare Assistants) were included in the shortage occupation list, with employers allowed to recruit from abroad. This pathway has become very competitive as supply is greater than demand. Most employers are also showing preference for persons already in the UK, another factor that makes this pathway difficult.
In the past 4 weeks, however, we have helped deliver 7 COS for some persons enrolled into our Care Job Pathway (Special Service). We have also had persons in the Regular Service who landed jobs, got COS and have relocated safely to the UK.
The new Scale-up Visa pathway is another means to secure a job in the UK that can sponsor a work visa, especially for those outside the Healthcare sector. I have written an elaborate post on it and will share it in the comment. π
The secret to landing jobs that can sponsor Visa is to apply to these jobs and get interview offers. You cannot get a job which you did not apply to. There are several job application sites. I will drop links to some of them in the comment. You can register on them and apply to jobs suitable to you, day in and day out. Ensure that the jobs you are applying for provide Visa sponsorhip. Soon, you will be able to get an interview invite and may well be on your way towards getting a COS.

5 HIDDEN ADVANTAGES OF RELOCATING TO THE UK π¬π§ VIA THE CARE JOB PATHWAY.
The Care Job Pathway since its launch earlier in the year is one of the most competitive pathways to the UK. However, it is also one of the most beneficial. A lot of persons are unaware of the hidden advantages of relocating to the UK. Find below, 5 hidden advantages of relocating via this pathway.
1. YOU CAN RELOCATE WITH SSCE - This is one of the pathways where you don't need any special skills or degrees to relocate. We have helped SSCE holders land job offers via our Care Job Pathway Service. Note that having SSCE means that you will need to show English proficiency using IELTS alone. The UK NARIC option requires a degree. But, you can smash IELTS even with SSCE. A little hidden advantage in this hidden advantage - scoring 5 on IELTS is actually enough if you are coming via the Care Job Pathway. Sweet, right? π
2. IT IS THE CHEAPEST VISA TO THE UK - Care Workers from abroad enter the UK under the Health and Care Visa which is the cheapest visa (Β£232 per person) compared to student visa (Β£363) and post-study visa (Β£715). Saves you money!
3. IHS IS WAIVED - One of the hidden advantages of coming as a Carer on the Health and Care Visa is that Immigration Health Surcharge (IHS) is waived. IHS cost is Β£624 per year per person. It may seem small (it is not!). But, the real effect of this begins to be felt if you are relocating with family. If IHS was not waived, if your contract was for 3 years, you are supposed to pay IHS of Β£1872 for the 3 years per person. For a family of 5, this is a whooping Β£9,360. Almost, Β£10k waived! Massive savings! π―
4. IT PUTS YOU ON THE PATH OF CITIZENSHIP - Being on Tier 2 Visa guarantees you British Citizenship after 6 years of living and working in the UK. After spending 5 years, you can apply for Indefinite Leave to Remain (ILR). This confers permanent residency status. I will add a hidden benefit to this hidden benefit - any child you birth in the UK after getting your ILR gains automatic citizenship by birth. π¬π§
5. YOUR SPOUSE CAN DO ANY JOB THEY WISH IN THE UK, UNRESTRICTED - If your spouse is a trained professional in one of the jobs that finds it difficult to recruit from abroad - lawyers, accountants, pharmacists, engineers, architects, etc - they can get these jobs and do them in the UK, just because they will not be needing visa to do it. They are very flexible and can command locum hourly rates which can improve your family's finances significantly.
Hey, I know I said five (5), but I will reward you with a sixth for reading this far. You are welcome. π
6. YOU CAN DO ANY JOB YOU LIKE AFTER 5 YEARS - Yes, you may have been an Engineer that came to the UK π¬π§ via the Care Job Pathway. After five years on this Visa, once you get your ILR (permanent resident status), you can actually leave Care Job and do any job you like, including practice as an Engineer. Cool, right? π
There you have it. Five abi six hidden advantages you get from coming to the UK via the Care Job Pathway. Some of these benefits are not permanent - for example, Care workers may not remain on the Health and Care Visa after December, 2022 - meaning that the IHS may no longer be waived. The waiver was meant to last for one year and was instituted in January 2022. We don't know if they will continue it beyond December.
Also, the pathway may be drawing to a close due to forces of demand and supply. The blessing of the pathway - anyone can do Care Jobs, have also become its curse - everyone wants to do Care Jobs. There is more supply than demand hence the intense competitiveness. This is the entire truth.
