I had so much fun working on this one.
One of the interesting parts of working on Mikolo (2023) was the creative freedom to explore art styles. In determining the style for Mikolo, we had to stay inbetween the realistic and stylized forms especially in the mystical forest, where I got to work on a range of creatures like this.
This one? I call it Dinoroo (don’t ask me why 😄).
Would you want to meet this creature in a forest… or run the other way?

One of my responsibilities on Mikolo was developing concept ideas for mystical creatures.
There was a clear guideline which was, they had to be colorful to fit the concept of the film.
This is one of the creatures I worked on from concept exploration to a production-ready asset.
It was a lot of fun bringing this one to life.
