Your CTA (Call To Action) might as well be the most important aspect of your email because it's what gets your readers out of the inbox and on to the next steps.
And your CTA need not confuse your readers, too. It should ask them to do only ONE thing.
Once your CTA is ambiguous or confusing, you've missed the goal of that particular email.
Ask yourself the questions on the slides before you write your CTA so you can nail the goal of that particular email.
Your CTA should lead to conversion.

It's a new week, and it's great to be back. I've been off for 48 hours, and it's for a good cause.
It's important to smell the roses 🌹 as often as possible.
For today's episode 😊, I'm taking a look at your email copy.
A lot, if not all your of your email marketing strategy, ties to your email copy because that is what your subscribers/contacts/leads will read.
It's the vehicle that carries the burden of your goal, and if it fails in delivering your intent, then the mission has not been accomplished 😪
Your email copy is not about slapping some words together, and HOPE that your subscribers get the message.
You can have a subject line and a preview text that stops your readers in their tracks, make them open your email expecting more, but then comes a lame or lousy body copy that makes your subscribers regret opening your email.
May that not be your portion. Can I get an Amen?! 🙏🏽
So, for your email copy, you must
🎯 Write with clarity, purpose, and your primary goal in mind.
🎯 Write for scanability. People don't read every single word, so write in such a way that they can easily get the gist of the message. They don't need to consult a dictionary to read your email.
🎯 Use the right tone for your emails. Be friendly and helpful in your tone.
🎯 Be personal as much as possible. Make your content relevant and engaging for the reader.
🎯 Take time to spell check/proofread. Don't turn away a contact over a misspelled word 🫣
Overall, take the time to understand the persona of your readers, where they are on the buyer's journey, and all these will guide your email copy.

Do you know that with every email you send to your subscribers, you're conditioning them?
If all you send daily, weekly, or monthly are tips, tricks, and hacks as freebies, you're conditioning them to believe that's your goal and nothing else.
Then, went you DO make an offer to sell your products or services, they give you "bombastic side eye" 👀 😒 🤷🏽♀️ wondering what the heck you're trying to do selling to them!
Inasmuch as it's good to nurture relationships by throwing in freebies, discounts, tips, tricks, hacks, etc., once in a while, don't condition your subscribers to expect this everytime they see your email.
You're in business to SELL. Don't let your subscribers FRIENDZONE you.

This is the reality with some subscribers.
They saw your lead magnet and were fascinated and intrigued. Even though it's not really something they wanted, they opted in all the same.
Once they've consumed the content of the lead magnet to satisfy their curiosity, any future emails they receive from you are not of any particular interest to them. Hence, they don't engage with your emails.
These set of people are dead weight in your email list, and they keep having a negative impact on your engagement and conversion metrics.

Let me break it down.
Email is NOT a one-way communication. As a business owner, you need to remind yourself that every time you press "send," there is another human at the other end receiving and reading your email.
And there is a pain point, challenge, headache, or fear that you, via your email, are mitigating or resolving for them.
You're the solution they've been waiting for.
Therefore, your content needs to firstly grab their attention and stop them in their tracks because you've touched a pain point.
This attention has to be sustained because your content is relevant to their current challenges.
You can't ask your readers to ascribe value to what you're giving them. You have to ADD the value, and they have to see and feel that value add.
Once the above 3 stages have been successfully implemented, trust me, they will TAKE ACTION when you ask them to.
Why?
You have grabbed their ATTENTION, and sustained their INTEREST through relevant content, piqued their DESIRE because they've seen the value you've added to them and therefore ready to take ACTION because you've asked them to.
Getting these right involves getting your strategy right.
