Have you heard of a new buzz word in the world of the internet ?

A new development in tech where people can socialize, work, have fun at the comfort of their homes.

The new word “Metaverse ” is not actually new in the tech world but became popular after CEO Mark Zuckerberg changed it company’s name to ‘Meta’. ( your WhatsApp, Facebook , displays form Meta)
Mr. Mark Zuckerberg declared that the new brand would bring together all their apps and technologies, thereby bringing the metaverse to life.

Rewind to 1992 Metaverse was first mentioned in Neal Stephenson’s novel “Snow crash”. “He defined it as a computer generated universe and an imaginary place”.

What is Metaverse?

Metaverse is the combination of the two words “Meta”(beyond) and “verse”(universe).

It’s surface meaning ... Beyond universe.

It can be defined as the coming together of the virtual world , augmented reality and the internet .

It is a virtually programmed and developed world where people can do real life activities like work meetings, business, have fun, socialize etc, with one another right on their couch! This will be possible by a representative 3D avatar. Using the VR headset Each user will have their own avatar representing them.

How does Metaverse look or feel?

Like I mentioned, it’s a new development no exact example for it. A good example of it are video games like (ready player one , second Life) or the ones we play in various Game Center using VR headsets. Whereby you will have an avatar representing you to do everything needed in the game like you’re right in there(Feeling of presence).

Metaverse allows people to interact virtually with a feeling of presence.

With metaverse many people will find physical presence as a big deal.
