Sodium Lauryl Ether Sulfate (SLES) 500 ml Main foaming and cleaning agent
Texapon (optional, for stronger foam) 100 ml Boosts foam stability
Cocamidopropyl Betaine 150 ml Foam booster and mild cleanser
Carnauba Wax Emulsion or Silicone Emulsion 100 ml Adds gloss and protects paint
Sodium Chloride (Salt) 50–100 g Thickener (adjust for desired viscosity)
STPP (Sodium Tripolyphosphate) 30 g Helps remove grease and dirt
Formalin (or preservative like Germall Plus) 5 ml Prevents microbial growth
Colorant (optional) few drops For attractive appearance
Fragrance (e.g., Lemon, Apple) 10 ml Pleasant scent
Clean Water 4 litres (approx.) Solvent and base

⚗️ Mixing Procedure

1. Measure 4 litres of clean water into a clean mixing container.

2. Add SLES and stir gently until fully dissolved (avoid foaming during mixing).

3. Add Texapon (if using) and Cocamidopropyl Betaine, stir until well blended.

4. Add STPP and mix until completely dissolved.

5. Add Carnauba Wax or Silicone Emulsion, mix gently to blend.

6. Add colorant and fragrance as desired.

7. Dissolve salt in a small portion of water separately and add gradually until you reach your preferred thickness.

8. Add preservative and stir slowly to finish.

9. Allow to settle for a few hours to remove bubbles, then package in clean containers.

Small Mistakes that can spoil your SODA Soap Production and how to avoid them 👌🏽👇🏾

1. Incorrect Measurements
> Too much lye → soap becomes harsh and can burn the skin.
> Too little lye → soap becomes soft, greasy, or doesn’t harden properly.
How to Fix: Always use a digital scale and follow a trusted recipe or soap calculator.

2. Mixing Lye and Water Improperly
> Mistake: Pouring water into lye instead of lye into water.
> Effect: Causes a v!0 lent reaction and splattering.
Fix: Always add lye to water slowly while stirring gently. Never the other way around.

3. Wrong Temperature
> Mistake: Mixing oils and lye solution at very different temperatures.
> Effect: Can cause soap to seize or separate.
How to Fix: Let both the lye water and oils cool to around 37–43°C before mixing.

4. Mistake: Stopping blending too early.
> Effect: Soap mixture may separate or fail to set.
> How to Fix: Blend until the mixture thickens slightly and leaves “trails” on the surface (light trace).

5. Using Contaminated Equipment
•Mistake: Using bowls, spoons, or containers that are not clean or are made of the wrong material (e.g., aluminum) Can cause unwanted chemical reactions or ruin the batch.
How to Fix: Use stainless steel, plastic, or glass containers — never aluminum.

6. Unmolding Too Soon
•Mistake: Removing soap from molds before it’s firm enough.
•Effect: Soap may crack or deform.
•Fix: Wait at least 24–48 hours before unmolding; longer if using cold process soap.
