SEEKING OR SEEKING FOR?

Whenever the word 'seek(ing)' is used as a verb in a sentence, it will not take the preposition 'for'.

In standard English, you are expected to say :

I am seeking admission.

But not

I am seeking for admission.

The use of 'for' is simply unnecessary in the expression.
