THE INVERSE SQUARE LAW

TRY THIS EXPERIMENT

Fill a bottle almost to the top with water
Leave another bottle empty

Try to sing or make sounds through them

Which one would produce a higher pitch and why ?

The Simple Answer is

The one that is almost filled with water will make a higher pitched sound than an empty bottle

This is because when you make sounds through the empty bottle, it would take a longer time for the sound to hit and obstacle which is the bottom of the bottle and be reflected, that will result in a lower pitch

The one that is almost filled with water will make a higher sound because it will take less time to hit an obstacle which is the water surface and it will be reflected. This will result in a higher pitch.

This means that in the first case the resonating column is longer than the second and it also means that the shorter the resonating column, the higher the pitch. This is called an INVERSE SQUARE LAW

In your voice too, your resonating column starts from your mouth and ends at your vocal folds. The shorter your resonating column (the distance between your mouth and vocal folds), the higher the pitch.

How can you shorten it .

One way to do this is to bring down your jaw as you sing. Bringing down your jaw shortens the distance and allows you to sing higher frequencies.

However, you must learn how to do this correctly by means of training.

Let me show you how to do this correctly from using the methods in my book. Pre-Order my book as soon as possible!!!
