The Special Adviser to the governor on ICT, Dayo Abiodun, emphasized the government's determination to enhance the knowledge of individuals in areas like cybersecurity, data analysis, and web designing to make them relevant in the emerging technology world. The government received an award from the National Information Technology Development Agency (NITDA) as the 2nd runner-up for the 'Most Digitally Compliant State' at the 2023 Digital Nigeria Award Dinner.

A devastating fire broke out at the Ladipo Plank Market in the early hours, resulting in the destruction of goods and property worth millions of naira. The cause of the fire, which began around 12:30 am, remains unknown. Fortunately, there were no reported casualties in the incident. Emergency services, including LASEMA, Lagos State Fire Service, and Federal Fire Service, were on the scene working to contain the fire and conduct rescue operations.

The organisers of the 'Warri Again Concert' have filed a N2.3 billion lawsuit against Nigerian American singer Davido and his music label, Davido Music Worldwide Limited, over an alleged breach of contract. The claimant, Brownhill Investments Company Limited, is seeking N2 billion as general damages, N150 million as legal and professional fees, and N30 million as the cost of filing the suit. The claimant alleges that Davido agreed to perform at the 19th edition of the 'Warri Again' event but did not show up, despite being paid a performance fee of N70 million. The case is ongoing at the High Court of Delta State in Effurun.

The Lagos State Internal Revenue Service (LIRS) has shut down 34 corporate organizations for failing to remit Personal Income Taxes of their employees and for non-remittance of Consumption Taxes by operators in the hospitality sector. Some of the affected companies include NTS Nigeria Ltd., Med-In Hospital & Pharma Services Ltd., Danvic Petroleum Int’l Ltd., and Avaya Nigeria Ltd. In addition, 23 hotels, restaurants, and event facilities were closed for failure to deduct and remit Consumption taxes. The tax liabilities of these companies and hotels amount to more than N356.12 million. The Director of Legal Services of LIRS warned that the enforcement exercise will continue and will be applied to all erring companies, hotels, restaurants, and individuals in the state if they do not regularize their tax positions.
