In many countries, when scandals of this magnitude emerge, public officials who are linked to the controversy often step aside to allow for an independent investigation.

In Nigeria, however, the conversation has taken a different turn. While the President has directed the ICPC to investigate the alleged fake federal agency within 30 days, the President's Chief of Staff, Femi Gbajabiamila—whose name has featured in public discussions surrounding the matter—has also been appointed to chair the State Police Implementation Committee.

This has sparked mixed reactions. Some Nigerians believe the investigation could uncover the truth and strengthen public confidence in our institutions. Others argue it may end without meaningful consequences.
