BREAKING EVIL AND ANCESTRAL COVENANTS THAT IS NEGATING YOUR DESTINY (PART I)
What is a covenant, and how can it be broken?
Though we appear to be terrestrial beings, more of our functionality and dominance on Earth are spiritual. For example, for any man to rightly understand his path, destination, glory, and purpose in life, he should have had some revelations of the spirit realm. (In case you are yet to know the meaning of path, destination, glory, and purpose read my previous post on "can destiny be changed'
WHAT IS A COVENANT AND HOW CAN IT AFFECT YOUR DESTINY?
Many people asked about COVENANT if it is same as destiny which I would like to explain in this post. Destiny and covenant are not the same but can complement each other in man's life. Since I have explained the idea of destiny before, I would like to write more about the covenant in this post.
A covenant is a formal, solemn, and binding agreement between two or more persons to do or not to do something. So, by relating this to the spiritual aspect of a man's life it could mean a sacred binding or agreement a man entered into with a spiritual personality or deity in which if he is loyal to the covenant will earn some benefits (as agreed upon) but if he fails to do accordingly will attract punishments, curse, or reverse of the blessings or benefits agreed on.
SIMILARITIES BETWEEN COVENANT AND DESTINY
So, what makes a covenant to be interwoven with Destiny is that
1. COVENANT IS FROM GENERATION TO GENERATION.
Covenants work by BLOODline or lineage. It is very powerful that death can not break it. For example, if you make a covenant with a spiritual personality or deity, the covenant will continue even after your death and would try to continue on your children because they carry your blood. This will also continue after the death of your children and pass on to your grandchildren.
Therefore, a particular covenant made by your ancestors some thousand years ago could still be impactful on your destiny if not broken or terminated. It is therefore advisable for anyone to let his children know if he had entered into any form of covenant with any spiritual personality before his death to make the children continue/abide by the content of the agreement (if the covenant is of God Almighty) or break it if it is of evil. A biblical example is the covenant God made with Abraham "I will make you a great nation...if you walk before me." Abraham passed the instruction guiding the covenant unto Isaac then Isaac to Jacob until its manifestation of Israel
2. A CHILD CAN BE DESTINED TO FULFIL A PARTICULAR COVENANT.
Another similarity is that a child can be shouldered with a purpose to fulfill the manifestation of a particular covenant. If a man fails to keep to the agreement binding a covenant, then its manifestation would be forfeited. By this, it could be paused (awaited) for many years waiting for a particular time a distinct child would be born into the family that will have a different mind to walk by the agreement of the covenant which will later birth the manifestation of the long-time covenant into the family. So, God almighty can never be indebted to any man. If there is a particular covenant that is yet to be manifested in your life or family don't blame God but rather check yourself if you are still doing accordingly.
3. COVENANT CAN ACT AS A STRONGHOLD TO ONE'S DESTINY.
You may come from the linage of idol worshipers where many evil covenants would have been made by your parents but your purpose in life (according to God almighty) may be to explore HIS KINGDOM in any occupation or field of your choice. The evil covenants been made by parents can strongly stand against you if you failed to work in the direction of your parents. This opposition can manifest itself in your career success, chosing life partner/having issues with spiritual husband, child bearing, or overall success of your endeavors in life.
TYPES OF COVENANTS
Before I highlight the types of covenants, I would like to explain the purpose or why people enter into a covenant with a spiritual personality or deity. My next post shall be on purpose, types, and how to break the evil covenants in a family. Shalom!!

AREAS GOD WANTS YOU TO BE FAITHFUL
Are you a faithful servant?
God wants you to be faithful because your faithfulness remains a standard HE used for HIS justification. That is, before God would justify you as a righteous son or servant HE would have tested you in the following areas.
1. Test of Another Man's:
Luke 16:12 says "And if you have not been faithful in what is another man’s, who will give you what is your own?"
God will not test your faithfulness with things of your own but rather with what belongs to another man. God believes that if you can be faithful just as Joseph when he refused to sleep with his master's wife, and David to his father's sheep in the wilderness, then you are fitted to be entrusted.
You are working with a boss and all things are being committed into your hand. Never think it is your boss that trusts you. No! It is God that is testing your faithfulness in another man's belongings, so he could prove you worthy enough before your enemy before the time of your elevation in life.
2. Test of a LITTLE THING.
"He that is faithful in that which is least is faithful also in much: and he that is unjust in the least is unjust also in much" (Luke 16: 10)
No great man starts great in life. They all started with something small. God doesn't just commit the whole of Israel in Moses' hand to deliver. Moses started by delivering a single helpless Hebrew man from the hand of a strong Egyptian even when Moses was yet to realize himself as a Hebrew. God also loves someone who knows how to manage little resources because God HIMSELF is a great manager.
God doesn't need to wait for you to steal millions of naira before he can judge you as a thief. This is how God evaluates a man: If God wants to test 'who is righteous' between two men. He would commit to them the same NUMBER but of different VALUES, that is, he would give to one man 5 thousand and the other 5 hundred thousand. God believes that the value of any entity is not in it but in the contentment, commitment, and managing skill of the handler/possessor. So, it is possible that the one entrusted with a thousand be found more faithful than the other entrusted with a hundred thousand.
God's analysis is that if you can manage well and be faithful with 5 thousand, then you will be faithful and manage well with 5 hundred thousand.
3. Test of Unrighteous Mammon:
God will not restrict HIS evaluation of your faithfulness to a faith-full land. This means that the best place for God to test your faithfulness is the place of Mammon. That is a place where it is very difficult to find a single man that is trustworthy or a place where unfaithfulness is the order of the day.
Joseph met himself in a land where fornication is only punishable if one is caught. But whether he would be caught or not, was not his thought. His standard was based on the fear of God. He said, "How then can I do this great wickedness, and sin against God?" He remained faithful in an unfaithful land.
Do you believe most of our faithfulness is not tested in the church vicinity because, in church, everyone tries to behave like an angel. Our faithfulness is tested most times when we are among unbelievers.
As a pastor, your faithfulness IS NOT ONLY tested on the pulpit. Be faithful even in unrighteous Marmon!
