Real Voices. Real Growth. Real Impact.
One of the most powerful ways to measure impact is to listen to the voices of the learners themselves. During our BRIGSE sessions, the boys shared reflections on how the programme has shaped their daily habits, decision-making, and future outlook.
Here are some of their reflections:
📝 “Before BRIGSE, I did not pay much attention to my personal hygiene and appearance, but now I can maintain proper grooming and understand the importance of cleanliness in my daily life.”
📝 “BRIGSE has helped me in so many ways. I now make better decisions, speak confidently, and choose positive behaviours that support my future goals.”
📝 “Before BRIGSE, I didn’t help much at home, but now I take responsibility in household chores such as cooking, cleaning, and organizing my environment.”
📝 “Through BRIGSE, I have learned about business ideas, production, and how to turn small skills into opportunities.”
These reflections remind us that when boys are equipped with life skills, mentorship, and practical knowledge, transformation becomes visible, not just in school, but at home and in their communities.
The journey continues. The impact grows. 🌱

Be the Voice for the Boy Child – BRIGSE Pilot Phase Wrap-Up

Yesterday marked a powerful and emotional milestone for us at Boys Rise Initiative Grooming Skills and Enterprise (BRIGSE) as we held the final session of our pilot phase.

This journey has been one of growth, discovery, and transformation. Our boys didn’t just attend sessions—they found their voices, built confidence, and began to see possibilities beyond their present realities.

We were honored to have Mr. Matemilola Adeleke Olukayode from the Lagos State Office of Education Quality Assurance lead our final grooming session. His wealth of experience and passion for youth development left a lasting impact on the boys, reinforcing values of discipline, self-awareness, and purpose.

Our vocational training sessions were expertly facilitated by Mrs. Adeniyi-Adekanmbi, the project lead, who guided the boys through practical, hands-on learning. Yesterday, the boys learned how to make puff-puff, oil perfume, liquid soap, and toilet wash, practical skills that not only promote self-reliance but also open doors to income generation and entrepreneurship.

We also deeply appreciate the unwavering support of Miss Lukoh and Miss Akindehin, whose commitment and encouragement ensured that every session ran smoothly and every boy felt seen and supported.

At BRIGSE, we are not just grooming boys, we are raising future men who can meet their needs, create opportunities, and become employers of labour.

This is only the beginning.
