The recent statement by the ceo to Moniepoint is causing lot of noise online and people are talking, reacting and emotional. Nigerians generally don’t like uncomfortable truths.
People are dragging the CEO of Moniepoint for what he said, but deep down, many business owners and even artisans know the reality already.
But the issue is bigger than tech.
Why do you think many construction companies prefer tilers, bricklayers, and artisans from Togo or Benin Republic?
Like I said, This is not even about tech anymore.
It is a deeper cultural issue around attitude to work, consistency, discipline, accountability, and pride in craftsmanship.
A lot of us work hard, yes.
But sometimes we work hard on the wrong things.
Nigeria is full of talent… but talent alone does not build great systems, quality and greatness. A visited can be hardworking and still underperform if the structure, competence, discipline and ex*****on are weak. We hustle hard but sometimes neglect mastery.
We celebrate viability more than craftsmanship. We reward quick wins more than long term excellence. Shey no be this same country that if I drive a Benz as a developer, it must be Gwagin to respect me else I no get level for your eye. Abi where a pastor wey wear jeans no carry anointing buy the one@wey wear white na him carry anointing….
These are the real conversation.
An employer trains someone today…
Tomorrow the person disappears without structure, commitment, or professionalism.
You train another person…
Same cycle repeats.
Then when employers become reluctant to invest heavily in training, people act shocked.
No economy grows on talent alone.
It grows on reliability, discipline, systems, and work ethic.
This conversation is uncomfortable, but pretending the problem does not exist will not solve it.
Let’s be real with the situation, we want to crucify the Moniepoint CEO because it easier to nail him to the cross because we are always deflecting from the main issue instead of the solution. He specifically mentioned that his biggest competitor is a Chinese fintech & we all know the company. No be the same china that Nigeria is handing over our nation’s resources to? Let’s wake up.

Spent the afternoon inspecting Sherry’s Court Phase II with one of our mortgage adoption partners.
Phase 3 is already in view.
We also reviewed our ongoing projects across Yaba, Surulere, Maryland, and Abijo.
Having successfully delivered Phase 1 in Surulere, we’re now structuring the next phase, creating real opportunities for mortgage buyers, families, and individuals to own properly.
The people who understand this… are already inside.
Phase 1 is already delivered.
Phase 2 is being activated.
Phase 3 is loading.
Not everyone can pay outright.
But the smart ones are positioning through mortgage.
This is where ownership shifts.

You don’t have to know how to play…
to feel the energy of the game 🎾🔥
At the Fitness Carnival,
the lawn tennis court at The Arena by Play Space came alive.
Fast serves.
Sharp returns.
Pure rhythm.
Even from the sidelines… you could feel it —
this is why lawn tennis is the darling of many.
And somehow…
it makes you want to pick up a racket and try.
To everyone who stepped on that court last Saturday —
thank you for bringing the energy, the movement, and the vibe.
This wasn’t just a game…
it was an experience.
And next time…
we might just see you play
