This week's Manprenuer is Razaq Ahmed. He is a Nigerian Tech Entrepreneur and CEO of Cowrywise.

His journey to becoming an entrepreneur was not an easy ride.While he was still in secondary school, he became an apprentice at a generator repair shop, and went there each day after school.
He planned to become a generator repairer after leaving secondary school, but as luck would have it, a war broke out.

As a Yoruba child raised in Kano, during the 1999 Hausa-Yoruba clash, his family had to forcibly relocate to Ogbomosho, Oyo state.

He later graduated from Obafemi Awolowo university (OAU) with first class academic honours in Economics. In 2012, he was certified as a Chartered Financial Analyst.

His worked as a research analyst and business economist at Meristem Securities, Shell Petroleum Development Company of Nigeria, Vetiva Capital Management and so on.

Before launching Cowrywise, he started Sart Partners, an investments-management company. Clients began asking him on how to invest small amounts ranging from 1000 to 50,000 naira. The solution he provided to this problem is Cowrywise.

Cowrywise was founded in 2017 as a savings and investment platform, and has grown to be one of the leading fintech platforms in Africa. It is duly licensed by the Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC) of Nigeria.
