It's a fact you can't plan an event without the help of a planner. An event planner will handle every aspect of your event/wedding: working with vendors, organising all the details. It's very important to hire someone who you feel comfortable speaking openly with... and someone who would represent you well at vendor meetings you can't attend. That's why you absolutely can't hire a planner for your wedding/event without asking these important questions.

1. How many weddings/events has he/she planned?

2. Can the planner work within your budget?

3. What is the planner's fee? Is it a flat fee, a percentage of the event /wedding, an hourly rate, etc.?

4. What is included in the planner's fee -- all phone calls, meetings, e-mails, etc.?

5. Does the planner get a kickback from vendors?

6. Does the planner understand your vision?

7. Will your planner make a checklist of all the items?

8. Will the planner create a time line for the wedding/event day?

9. Does the planner have an assistant/team who will work with him/her at your wedding/event?

10. Can the planner recommend vendors who fit your budget and style?

11. What will s/he take care of -- finding vendors? Invitations? Favors?

12. Can the planner get you discounts with vendors?
