Our new blog post considers an important topic for us to discuss. If you’re a dog owner, could you tell us where you got your dog from? Some of you might answer ‘dog breeder’ or ‘shelter’, but a good number of you might give an answer like from the streets of Lagos or Abuja or Nairobi in a traffic jam.

Over the last decade or so, street hawking of puppies has become a fad. Dog sellers, commonly called ‘puppy hawkers’ see it as a prime way of reaching their customers, and for some customers it is advertising in its finest form. But is it really?
