Dera's heartwarming and inspiring story!

As the Nigerian-born Italian/Irish citizen, CHIDERA, stepped foot in her ancestral homeland for the first time, she was met with a mix of excitement and nervousness. The Christmas holiday was a perfect opportunity for her to reconnect with her roots and give back to her community.

With her younger brother NETO by her side, CHIDERA embarked on a mission to share her knowledge and Italian cultural heritage with the students of UBAHUEKWEM community school in Ihiala Anambra state Nigeria. As they walked into the school, the students' eyes widened with curiosity, eager to learn from this foreign-born, yet locally-rooted, visitor.

CHIDERA'S decision to teach Italian language to the students was more than just a gesture of cultural exchange; it was a bridge-building exercise, connecting the dots between her dual identities and the community she had never known. As she began to speak in Italian, the students' faces lit up with fascination, and they eagerly repeated the phrases, trying to mimic the melodic sounds of the language.

But CHIDERA'S gift to the students went beyond language lessons. She also shared books, carefully curated to inspire and educate the young minds. The books, filled with stories of adventure, science, and history, were a treasure trove of knowledge, sparking the students' imagination and broadening their horizons.

As the day unfolded, CHIDERA'S younger brother watched in awe, seeing his sister's passion and dedication to giving back to their community. He realized that, despite their mixed heritage, they were still connected to their Nigerian roots, and that their experiences and knowledge could make a meaningful difference in the lives of others.

The students, too, were inspired by CHIDERA'S story, seeing in her a reflection of their own potential and possibilities. They began to envision a future where they, too, could explore the world, learn new languages, and share their own stories with others.

To the pupils of UBAHUEKWEM primary school ihiala, Anambra state Nigeria their encounter with Dera through out the 1st week of school after the Christmas brake will remain memorable. CHIDERA and her brother left the school, knowing that they had planted a seed of hope and cultural exchange in the hearts of the students. The experience had been a powerful reminder of the importance of giving back, sharing knowledge, and bridging the gaps between cultures and communities.

Thumps up Dera. Neto and the pupils of UBAHUEKWEM primary school ihiala Anambra state Nigeria.
