My late mother-in-law, Funmi Martins, once gave me ₦400,000 that changed my life.

Nollywood actor Afeez Abiodun, also known as Afeez Owo, shared this in a recent interview. He said his late mother-in-law, who was also an actress, played a major role in turning his life around.

According to him, they met on a movie location where he was working as a coordinator. Funmi Martins, an English-speaking actress at the time, was part of the cast. Impressed by his performance on set, she asked him to coordinate her upcoming Yoruba movie.

He went on to say that Funmi Martins was the first person to feature the late Sikiru Ayinde Barrister in a movie — a move that made the film the talk of the town. After the production, the movie was screened at the National Theatre. Afeez Owo facilitated the event, and at the end of the show, they realized ₦850,000.

When he handed the money over to Funmi Martins, she shared it among her family and relatives, and gave him ₦400,000 as a reward for a job well done. He used that money to produce his first-ever Yoruba movie, _Majen Siwon Waye_, and that project changed his life for good. May her soul continue rest in peace "
