The monthly medical continuous education was today held in ISolo General Hospital, C.M.E .,as it is popularly called is map out to educate Health staff on their various fields and to acquire knowledge on issues surrounding Health sector as a whole. Presenting a paper tagged Health Record Structure and uses Mr Wusu Abdulhakeem of the record department said the record keeping is an extension of the doctors memory because they can forget as human, so record is there to serve as a reminder also to patients, Health workers, hospital management, researchers Government and educational community. Also Mr ofien Demeji a nursing suprident of the Nursing department presented a paper tagged Lassar Fever The Role of Nurses ,speaking Demeji said, Lassar fever is a severe and often fatal hemorrhagic illness ,discovery was in 1969 in Lassa village in Borno state northern part of Nigeria. Symptoms include bleeding, pain, vomiting, coughing, eat. For treatment Ribavirin should commence six days after infection is diagnosed. Demeji speaking further said to prevent Lassa fever death safe injection practices and safe burial practices should be encouraged, personal and protective equipment should be used. Lagos state government has commenced immunisation exercise against measles across the entire State for children between 9 months to 5yrs of age .According to matron in charge of child welfare at Isolo General hospital Mrs Toyin, Victoria Ayoola, said the immunisation exercise will run from22nd -29th of March. Ayoola said immunisation is safe and saves lives. Also mrs Adebisi modupe and her team from Lagos State ministry of health were on ground to ensure full compliance. Mothers who brought their babies for the immunisation exercise expressed gratitude and appreciation to Lagos State government for making the program free and on time. The Medical Director /ceo Dr Godwin Akhabhoa advice mothers present to help spread the Informationi.
