In July 2022, my father in the Lord, Apostle Arome Osayi, was scheduled to minister in Owerri at the first Eastern Apostolic Conference of RCN Imo State.
Like many sons would do, I was excited.
A team of pastors from Anambra had already planned the journey.
Everything looked normal.
Except one thing.
I couldn't find peace.
For days, I had prayed about attending the meeting.
The more I prayed, the less convinced I became.
It wasn't fear.
It was simply that quiet witness of the Holy Spirit saying, "Don't move."
Then one of the pastors travelling with us called me.
He said,
"Apostle... I don't feel we should go. I don't have peace in my spirit."
I laughed.
I told her,
"It's Papa that is ministering. We have to go."
Looking back today...
I now know the difference between honouring a spiritual father and ignoring the Holy Spirit.
That Friday afternoon, we set out.
I instructed two disciples from my church not to join our vehicle but to use public transportation. They might not understand but I had covering over them to instruct them.
I never knew that simple decision would later preserve their lives.
As we approached Owerri...
Everything changed.
Unknown gunmen opened fire on our vehicle.
Bullets.
Everywhere.
I was the one driving.
To this day, I still cannot fully explain how we escaped.
We abandoned the vehicle.
Ran for our lives.
Jumped into the bush.
Two brothers serving as protocol in our vehicle were hit by gunfire...
Yet by God's mercy, they survived.
While hiding inside the bush...
I picked up my phone.
And I sent my wife a message.
Not because I was sure I would die.
But because I wasn't sure I would return.
It was one of those messages you send when eternity suddenly feels very close.
We hid for what felt like forever.
At one point, I found myself lying under a tunnel, praying silently while armed men searched nearby.
Eventually, we escaped.
But we never made it to the conference.
The news reached Owerri.
It reached my father in the Lord.
Later, when we spoke, he asked me one question.
A question I have never forgotten.
He said,
"Before you started this journey... did you have the leading of the Holy Spirit to come?"
I answered honestly.
"No, sir."
"We prayed."
"We didn't have peace."
"We came because you were going to be there."
Then he said something that permanently changed my understanding of sonship.
He said,
"The purpose of raising sons is not for them to be led by me. It is for them to be led by the Holy Spirit."
That sentence corrected something inside me forever.
A true spiritual father is not trying to replace the voice of God in your life.
He is trying to teach you how to hear Him.
Many people think maturity is doing everything your father in the Lord does.
No.
Maturity is obeying God.
If your father clearly gives you an instruction, obey it.
But where no instruction has been given, don't replace the witness of the Holy Spirit with sentiment.
That is not honour.
That is immaturity.
Since that day, I have learned something.
Never violate divine peace because of emotional excitement.
Not even for a good meeting.
Not even because your favourite preacher is ministering.
No meeting is more important than obedience.
Interestingly...
July has always been a month filled with strange near-death encounters for me, dating back to my university days.
But one day, the Lord spoke to me.
He said,
"July shall no longer be remembered for danger. It shall be remembered for perfection."
That word has stayed with me.
And this is my prayer for everyone reading this.
May this July become your month of perfection.
May every unfinished story be completed.
May every delayed promise find fulfillment.
May every trap set against your life fail.
May the voice of the Holy Spirit become clearer than every other voice competing for your attention.
And finally...
Permit me to celebrate my Spiritual Parents in the Lord.
A man secure enough not to make sons dependent on him, but determined to make them dependent on the Holy Spirit.
That is rare.
If this story blessed you, take a moment to celebrate my PAPA Apostle Arome Osayi and MAMA Rev Dinna Osayi in the comment.
And if you're a young believer learning to follow God, share this post.
Someone needs to know that sentiment is never a substitute for the leading of the Holy Spirit.
Share it. Apostle Arome Osayi

RIGHTEOUSNESS MAKES US MASTERS OF EVIL- E.W. Kenyon
IF we can enter the Throne Room without fear, if we can stand in His presence without fear, then we know that we are His Righteousness in Christ and that we are masters of all evil. Satan and demons knew Jesus. They knew who He was, and they knew what He was. They knew also that Jesus was aware of who He was. Satan and demons know who we are, but ofttimes we ourselves do not know. Jesus said, "I came out from the Father." We can say, "We know we are born of God and that whosoever is born of God overcometh the world."
Have you ever realized what it means to come boldly to the throne of grace? Have you ever realized what it means for us to be able to stand in the Father's presence today as Jesus did in His earth walk? Do you know that we have as much a right to be free from Sin Consciousness as Jesus was in His earthly ministry? If we can stand in the presence of the Father without the sense of inferiority or sin, we are masters of every force and power of hell. Satan is defeated. When we know we are His Righteousness and know it as Jesus knew who He was, we will not fear evil, we will not fear any disease, we will not fear the lack of money. We will know we are absolute masters over every power of the Enemy.
We will know that Phil. 4:19 is ours. "And my God shall supply every need of yours according to his riches in glory in Christ Jesus." There will be no worry about our finances. We will simply call His attention to our needs and they will be met. Jesus said, "Your Heavenly Father knoweth that ye have need of all these things. But seek ye first his kingdom and his righteousness; and all these things shall be added unto you."
We have sought His Righteousness and have found it. We have become His Righteousness in Christ.
Righteousness means the ability to stand in the Father's presence as though sin had never touched us, with the same liberty and freedom that Jesus had with the Father in His earth walk. When we confess the Lordship of Jesus, it is not only His Lordship over us but it is His Lordship over all evil through us and by us. The moment we make this confession, we are one with Him. We are His representatives in the earth. We are acting in the Name of Jesus.
In His Name we are masters. In His Name we are conquerors. In His Name we dominate circumstances and evil forces. When we recognize His Lordship over us, it is His Lordship through us. It is His Lordship in our words, so we can say, "In Jesus Name, demon, leave that body." We can say to that disease, "T.B. in the Name of Jesus Christ, your Master, leave that body", and it will leave. We are masters because He is our Master. And as our Master, He is working through us.
He is lording it over the forces of darkness through us. We have become His Righteousness by receiving Eternal Life, the very nature of the Father. The moment that becomes a reality to us, we become overcomers. Demons will fear us even as they feared Jesus. How many times they must have said, "If that man knew his authority, he would send us off into the abyss". But he did not know his authority! He was praying for faith. He was trying to get power. He was fasting and crying and pleading with God to give him something that he already possessed.
He had the authority.
He had the ability to use that authority. But he did not know it!
We have become as He was in His earth walk.
He became as we were to the end that we might become as He was, and now is. By the New Creation we are branches of the Vine, members of His body. "As He is, so are we in this world."
He is a New Creation-so are we.
He is the Righteousness of God-so are we.
He is an heir of God-so are we.
He is Master of the underworld-so are we in His Name.
As He has fellowship with the Father-so have we.
As He had authority in heaven and on earth-so in the Name of Jesus we have authority in heaven.
We can say to that T.B. case, "In Jesus' Name, demon, leave that body." At once the Word goes forth in heaven, and that man is delivered instantly. Jesus had "all authority" given to Him after He arose from the dead. He did not need that authority for Himself. That authority belongs to His body, the Church. So we have the right to exercise this authority in doing the work that He began to do, and left us to carry on.
He said, "Greater works than these shall ye do; because I go unto the Father."
The moment He sat down at the right hand of the Father, He empowered the Church to go and do the kind of work that He was doing before His crucifixion. He has all wisdom, and He is our wisdom. He has authority. We are one with Him to use that authority to glorify the Father.

Dad Hagin thought a lot of Sister Jeanne Wilkerson, she was an awesome Prophetess! There were times she would come in a service of Dad Hagin's and sit in the back of the room. Dad Hagin would stop in the middle of his message and say, "Sister Wilkerson, I know your here because I felt you when you can into the room. Come up here and deliver whatever the Lord has placed in your heart." He was so sensitive to the Spirit of God he knew when that woman of God was there in the service and had a word from the Lord! Wow, we need more people sensitive like that, that they'll know by the Spirit someone in the in service has a Word from the Lord besides them. That's what you call being Spirit led!!
Kenneth Hagin shared a prophecy he once received from this great prophetess đ
I had a supernatural experience years ago
At a seminar in 1968, Sister Jeanne Wilkerson, an established Bible teacher and prophetess (who has since gone on to be with the Lord), prophesied that in the fall of that year I would have an experience similar to Enochâs in that I would be caught up to Heaven. Enoch was caught away in the flesh â his physical body departed from this earth (Gen. 5:24; Heb. 11:5). But Sister Wilkerson prophesied that I would be caught away in the Spirit and would receive revelation from God.
I didnât do anything to try to make that prophecy come to pass. I just continued to serve God. Then in the fall of that year, my only sister, Oleta, died of cancer when she was only fifty-five years of age.
Oleta had been sick once before and had almost died. When I prayed for her, she was healed. She was a spiritual babe in Christ at that time, so I could get her healed on my faith in the Word. But this time when she got sick, she was no longer a spiritual baby, so I couldnât get her healed on my faith. We wonât be able to carry other people on our faith indefinitely because God expects each of us to grow up in faith.
So my sister died in the fall of that year. In fact, our family was all gathered around my sisterâs bed on the evening she drew her last breath. About 1:30 the next morning, I was lying in bed thinking about what it must have been like for my sister as her spirit left her body, and she ascended to Heaven to be with the Lord.
I thought about the time my own heart stopped beating on August 16, 1933, as I lay on the bed of sickness. When my heart stopped, my spirit left my body, and as I looked back down, I could see my body lying there on the bed. I saw my mother holding my hand. Then I thought about my sister again. When she died and left her body, she must have looked down upon all of us gathered around her bed and seen our love and concern.
As I was thinking about this, suddenly a bright, golden beam of light from Heaven about as big as an elevator shaft penetrated right through the ceiling. When that light touched me, my spirit left my body. I went right up through that beam of light as if I were going up an elevator, until I reached Heaven.
In Heaven, I saw my sister talking to Jesus. When I walked up to them, Jesus stopped talking to her and looked at me. When Jesus looked at me, my sister turned around to see who Jesus was looking at and saw me.
The first thing my sister said to me was, âKen, donât feel so badly that you couldnât pray the prayer of faith for me. There was a reason why you couldnât.â (She didnât tell me what the reason was.)
Sometimes God doesnât reveal to us the reason why some people donât receive their healing. Deuteronomy 29:29 says, âThe secret things belong unto the Lord our God. . . .â
My sister told me she had already seen Granny and Grandpa, my motherâs parents. She also said she had seen her grandson, Jason, who had died when he was three years old. Then she said, âKenneth, I saw Ann.â Ann was her daughter who had died as a result of an automobile accident when she was only twenty- five years old, leaving behind two small children.
My sister continued, âThe first thing Ann said to me was, âHow are kenneth and children?â (Bill was Annâs husband.) I didnât tell Ann that Bill had remarried.â
Then my sister said something that came as a real revelation to me. She told me, âYou see, people up here are not interested in the natural side of life of those living on the earth. They are not concerned about whether or not you buy a new dress or a new suit, or how much money you have in the bank.
âThey are concerned about spiritual things. They donât know what happens in your life in the natural realm, but they know everything you do spiritually. They know when you make a decision for Christ.â
My sister was talking about the cloud of witnesses in Heaven watching us as we run our spiritual race. That was the revelation Sister Wilkerson had prophesied I would receive during this experience. Before this experience of being caught up to Heaven, Iâd only had a hint or glimpse of that revelation.
Incidentally, when Sister Wilkerson prophesied that I would be caught up to Heaven like Enoch and receive revelation, she also said that another person would be involved in a similar supernatural experience. My older brother, Dub, was that person. The same night I was caught up to Heaven, Dub had a similar experience. Dub was also caught up to Heaven and had a conversation with our sister, just as I had a short time earlier.
At the time this happened to Dub, no one could have accused him of being spiritual! Dub didnât understand much about spiritual things, and his experience in Heaven unnerved him. He called me the next day to tell me about it. He had no idea Iâd had a similar experience the same night.
