Lately, my heart has been heavy.
Like many Nigerians, I’ve watched the news, read the headlines, and seen the pain carried by families whose lives have been changed in an instant.

As a filmmaker, I often turn to storytelling when I struggle to make sense of what I’m feeling. So I decided to tell a story inspired by the fears, hopes, and heartbreak that many families live with every day.

Using AI creative tools, I created An Empty Desk, a short film about a child who should have come home from school, and the family left waiting.

This film is not about politics. It is about people.

It is about parents, children, teachers, and communities.

It is about the empty spaces left behind when education is interrupted by violence.

I hope it encourages reflection, empathy, and conversation.
