✨G6PD DEFICIENCY✨

🖊️Glucose-6-phosphate dehydrogenase deficiency is also a significant cause of mild to severe jaundice in newborns
🖊️Deficiency leads to the destruction of red blood cells too fast (hemolytic anemia) Paleness. Yellow skin and eyes (Jaundice; this can be severe in some newborns, and if not treated, can cause a health problem called kernicterus).
🖊️Babies with G6PD deficiency should avoid foods and substances known to trigger hemolysis, such as mentol containing substances, fava beans, soy-based products, certain legumes like chickpeas and certain types specific medications (e.g., some antimalarial drugs and aspirin), and food additives like sulfites and artificial.
