Heartbreaking, Venezuela.. 💔🇻🇪

Terrible news have emerged from Venezuela following the devastating earthquake after the tragedy claimed countless lives, left many injured, and caused unimaginable suffering across the country.

The football community has also been deeply affected.

Héctor Bello, Marítimo de La Guaira player, tragically lost his wife, who heroically 𝐬𝐚𝐜𝐫𝐢𝐟𝐢𝐜𝐞𝐝 𝐡𝐞𝐫𝐬𝐞𝐥𝐟 𝐭𝐨 𝐬𝐚𝐯𝐞 𝐭𝐡𝐞𝐢𝐫 𝐝𝐚𝐮𝐠𝐡𝐭𝐞𝐫 by shielding her with her own body beneath the collapsing rubble.

“I will tell her the story of how you saved her, my love, how you gave your life for our daughter, how you were a brave woman who never left her side, not even as you took your last breath.”

“You left us to fight this battle alone. How am I supposed to explain to our daughter that you gave your life to save hers, and that I wasn’t there to do anything?” the player wrote in a heartbreaking tribute to his wife.

His teammate, Lucas Trejo, also endured an unimaginable loss.

His wife and their two children were found lifeless after more than 70 hours of search and rescue efforts.

Among the many lives lost in this devastating disaster, there were also several promising young Venezuelan footballers.

Yimvert Berroterán has passed away with his girlfriend.

Caracas Under 18 prospect Razan Sijaa also lost his life while he was spending time together with members of his family.

Ricardo Veloz, one of Venezuela’s brightest young talents, also lost his life in the earthquake.

The youngest victim was 14 year old kid Víctor Palacios who had a dream, reaching international level.

These are just some of the many heartbreaking stories to emerge from this tragedy. Terrible, terrible stories.
