Good morning Fams

In the next couples of days, I will be sharing about Onions. Let me start today by sharing different types of Onions we have and thier usages.

Different Types of Onion

White Onions. Crunchiest and Sharpest.

Yellow Onions. Best all around cooking onion. It can be used for meat roasts, braised meat dishes, sauces, soup and stew.

Sweet Onions. Best for frying. Use for Onions rings, roasted vegetables, grating

Red Onions. Best for eating raw. Salad, Sandwiches

Shallot Onion. I love shallot because of its tastes, it has a unique taste in all types of food. I have used both fresh and dried ones, both are good to go. Personally, I use it marinate my chicken, meat, add to my fried rice and jollof rice. Very unique.

Green Onion. This is a must in ju kitchen. I buy it and keep for my everyday use. It's one of my important ingredients for cooking fried rice, spaghetti and even blend with my ginger, garlic and onions to season my meat, chicken, and fish. It is also use for garnishing salad, coleslaw etc.
