NIGERIA UNION OF TEACHERS (BORNO STATE WING) ANNOUNCES WORLD TEACHERS’ DAY 2025 CELEBRATION

The Nigeria Union of Teachers (NUT), Borno State Wing, wishes to inform the general public and all education stakeholders that the 2025 World Teachers’ Day Celebration will hold on Sunday, 5th October 2025, at the Former Sir Kashim Ibrahim College of Education, Maiduguri, beginning at 10:00 a.m.

This year’s celebration is themed “Recasting Teaching as a Collaborated Profession”, focusing on promoting unity, innovation, and shared responsibility within the teaching profession to enhance educational standards in Borno State and across Nigeria.

Teachers, government officials, education partners, and members of the public are cordially invited to join in honoring the dedication and contributions of teachers toward nation-building.

FG Declares April 18 and 21 Public Holidays for Easter Celebration

The Federal Government has officially declared Friday, April 18, and Monday, April 21, 2025, as public holidays in celebration of Good Friday and Easter Monday.

This announcement was made by the Minister of Interior, Dr. Olubunmi Tunji-Ojo, in a statement issued on Tuesday. He urged Christians to reflect on the significance of Easter, which commemorates the sacrificial love of Jesus Christ for humanity.

According to a statement signed by the Permanent Secretary of the Ministry, Dr. Magdalene Ajani, the minister called on Nigerians to use the Easter period to pray for the peace, unity, and stability of the country.

Dr. Tunji-Ojo also encouraged citizens to demonstrate love, compassion, and generosity toward one another during the holiday.

He concluded by wishing Christians a joyful Easter and extended his holiday greetings to all Nigerians.
