THE WOMAN WHO TOUCHES THE HEART OF JESUS

"For she had been saying to herself, “If I just touch His garments, I will get well.”
_Mark 5: 28 (New American Standard Bible)

She was not a queen clothed in splendor.
She was not a prophetess whose words echoed in the synagogue.
She held no title, no position, no authority.
Her name was unknown.
Her face was lost among the crowd.

For twelve long years, she had suffered.
An unending flow of blood drained not only her strength, but her dignity.

She went from physician to physician, spending all she had, hoping for relief.
Instead of healing, her condition only grew worse.

She became poorer, weaker, and more isolated

According to the Law, she was considered unclean.

She could not touch others.
She could not worship freely.
She lived on the margins—unseen, unheard, and forgotten.

But then she heard about Jesus.

She heard that He healed the sick.
She heard that He showed mercy to sinners.
She heard that power flowed from Him
not the power of position, but the power of divine love.

And hope was born in her heart.

She did not ask to be noticed.
She did not ask for permission.

She said quietly to herself,

“If I just touch His clothes, I shall be healed.”
— Mark 5:28 📖

That was her faith.

As Jesus walked through the crowd, surrounded by people pressing in on every side,
she came from behind.

Trembling, weak, and afraid—but believing—
she reached out and touched the hem of His garment.

In that very moment, her body changed.
The flow of blood stopped.
She felt it, deep within herself.
She knew she was healed.

At once, Jesus stopped.

“Who touched my clothes?” He asked.

The disciples were confused:

“Teacher, you see the crowd pressing upon You,
and yet You ask, ‘Who touched Me?’”

But Jesus knew.
He felt that healing power had gone forth from Him.

The woman, fearful and trembling, came forward.

She fell at His feet and told Him the whole truth
her suffering, her faith, her healing.

Jesus did not rebuke her.

He did not shame her.
He looked at her with compassion and called her “Daughter.”

“Daughter, your faith has saved you.
Go in peace, and be cured of your affliction.”
— Mark 5:34 📖

She came to Him hidden and afraid.
She left seen, loved, and restored.
She did not need status.
She did not need wealth.
She did not need recognition from others.
She needed only faith in Jesus.

Faith is not about who you are or what you possess.

Faith is about trusting in the mercy and power of Christ.

“For nothing will be impossible for God.”
— Luke 1:37 📖

Even little faith placed in the hands of Jesus is powerful.

“If you have faith the size of a mustard seed… nothing will be impossible for you.”
— Matthew 17:20

If you are tired…
If you are broken…
If you feel forgotten…

Come back to Jesus.

He is waiting for you.

Reach out to Him today
because one touch of faith can change everything. ✝️🙏
