Chapter Thirty-Three

After the lengthy discussion between Tony and Mr Harrison. Tony promised him to come with his kins men the following week to formally ask for her daughter's hand in marriage,after their agreement, Tony left while Mr Harrison called out his wife to inform her of the newest development happening in the family.

Tony while walking back home that afternoon, wasn't at rest in his mind, he kept contemplating. By the time he reached home he settled on the couch in the sitting room and began contemplating deeply on how he was going to call his siblings whom were disappointed at him, that he never invested the money they gave to him immediately. He thought how he was going to message them about the newest development.

Later in the evening of that same day, he gathered the courage to call Alex on Phone and informed him about the girl he got pregnant and how her father was insisting that he must marry her.

Tony was surprised, Alex didn't react like he envisaged, he only asked him if he really loved the girl for a wife, nervously Tony told him yes that he wanted their support so he could go ahead and get married to her.

Alex welcomed the Idea, he advised him not to let his child grow and be raised by another man, he told him to take responsibility and embrace the new development with whatever implication it might come with, At the end Alex supported him, he promised to inform Gift, Paul and Michael of the new development and assured him that they will fully support him.

The following week, Alex came to the village, he bought some kolanuts, Whisky and other liquor that will be used at the introduction ceremony. When he got to their abode. Tony helped him carry some of the items, while they left for Mr Harrison place for the introduction ceremony.

The introduction went successfully, Mr Harrison called out some of his neighbour's and his younger brother Mike. They all witnessed the introduction. After the introduction was over they all drank, celebrated and discussed about the recent happening in their state Anambra.

A month later, the traditional marriage ceremony happened, it was a successful one, Tony's siblings supported the traditional marriage financially. The traditional marriage ceremony went well, everyone around the village that attended the Traditional marriage ceremony kept on talking about it, that very day everyone who came ate,drank and left with food with them to their a various destination.

A week after the traditional marriage, Esther began living together with Tony in his abode, her protruding tummy was becoming obvious this time.

It has being four years of marriage, five year's Tony relocated to the village,he was so grown now, white hairs were beginning to come out of his beards.

The responsibility and pressure of being a father of twins, two boys was on him, he mostly spend his nights alone outside contemplating over his life, one thing he mostly regrets was attending the university.

He often weep bitterly Whenever he remembers where he was and where he could have being only if he was disciplined.

Life was unbearable hard for him in the village, his poultry later died up in a night, while he sold most of the fish he reared and wasn't able to buy them back, he was a lazy father, Whom could only cultivate what him and his family could eat and survive.

As day passed by, things weren't getting better, the two kids Tim and Joseph were growing rapidly and needed to start going to school.

Esther had pressured her husband so much,till the extent she began denying him access to her body most of the nights, she had pressured Tony so many time's to find something sustainable to do,so her kids could start attending school like other kids in the village.

Esther had friends whom were in Onitsha, Aba and Owerri, most of her friends were married to Trader's in these town, this made her feel behind and mostimes question herself severally.

She was always thinking and regretting why she allowed herself to be decieved by Tony, She would seat many times and cursed the day she opened her legs for him thinking he was working in an oil company.

Esther regrets getting married to Tony as that was what paused her dreams to becoming,the only joy she always had was seeing her kids, seeing her kids made her happy knowing fully well that if she die today that she has people who will continue her legacy.

But this didn't stop her from advising Tony to man up, unfortunately all she was telling Tony was yielding no result as it seems he was comfortable in his situation and was never ready to make moves that will change the situation.

One fateful monday morning, Tony returned home from farm empty. He met Esther in the sitting room with the kids they were playing the local ncho game,he walked into the sittingroom smiling at his two kids.

The boys left the ncho game they were playing with their mom, and came and embraced him before they returned.

Tony looked at his wife Esther, whom was keeping for him a straight face, he walked into the bedroom to change his clothes and returned in a couple of minutes later to find his wife and his two boys playing ncho game.

“Babe,is there nothing we will eat?, I'm hungry” Tony asked her.

Esther only raised her head to look up to him, she wanted to talk but her instincts made her to keep quiet to observe Tony for some time.

“Babe, isn't you that I'm asking?” Tony asked, he was vexed. He was enraged why his wife would keep quiet, looking at him and not responding.

“Selfish man,have you told us where you're coming back from? Have you asked us here if we have eaten for today? You're just a big disgrace,have told you time to time that I regret marrying you” Esther was shouting on top of her voice.

“Don't speak to me like that in front of my kids” Tony warned her.

“And if I do, what will you do?, Are you a man enough?, You're not ashamed of yourself, infant I'm literally tired of this marriage, enough is enough it isn't compulsory for one to be married, i will be taking this kids with me since you don't want to Man up, since you don't see the value of education and take calculated risk for our children to go to school, I think it's better we now leave you and your mediocre life and find somewhere else to be, I'm willing to do runs to train and raise my children to the best standard, and I pray they don't be useless as you're” Esther was shouting on top of her voice.

What she said broke Tony, he almost cried,he held the tears that wanted to cascade from his eyes. He looked at his two handsome boys and began.

“You will do runs and train my children, chukwu aju, God forbid, so you know what ?, I'm leaving to Asaba Tomorrow,let me go and hustle,I'm the man here, my family must be proud of me” Tony spoke with so much confident.

Esther was surprised to hear that from him, she has never seen him talk in that manner, which only meant he was serious.

Chapter Thirty-two

Mr Harrison smiled when he realized the young man he tapped on the shoulder was actually Tony, when he saw Tony, it seemed like God knew where he was going to and decided to make it easier for him.

He guessed he had only come to see her daughter, he hasn't seen her since she got pregnant.

“Young man, thank God you're here, because i was on my way to your abode,but since you're here I think we should go inside we have something important to discuss” Mr Harrison spoke.

He turned and looked at her daughter and they started going back.

Tony's mind was restless, immediately he heard from Mr Harrison that he was on his way to his house.He knew Esther might have probably gotten pregnant and this could be the reason he hasn't seen her for the past few days, he wished he never came out to check on her, He followed Mr Harrison and her daughter from behind into the compound.

When they entered the compound, Mr Harrison asked her daughter to get him and his visitors chair under the mango tree, Esther walked fast and brought them two plastic chairs under the mango tree and left

Mr Harrison sat down on one of the chair and asked Tony to take his seat. Tony sat gently,his ears attentive to hear from him.

“So young man what are your plans for my daughter?” Mr Harrison began.

The question hit Tony, he had to contemplate what could be the best response for the question threw at him.

“Who is my daughter to you? Young man; who is she to you?” Mr Harrison asked Tony, he could see sweats and how uncomfortable Tony sat, immediately after he asked him the first question, he thought he was too forwards so he decided to ask him whom are daughter was to him.

“Sir, she is my girlfriend” Tony spoke. His heart was beating so fast due to anxiety.

“Okay,she is your girlfriend,that's alright and then,like I asked you earlier what are your plans for my daughter?”

“Sir, Tony called him, he swallowed his saliva for more than four times before he continued searching for best response in his mind. “Sir,I really don't understand sir,your daughter is my girlfriend” Tony managed to speak.

“So she is your girlfriend,and you don't have any plans for her,like are you serious?” Mr Harrison retorted.

Tony kept quite,he didn't know what to say, he kept mute and stared at Mr Harrison.

“By the way, what do you do for a living?” He asked him looking at him from head to toe.

Tony wasn't expecting that question,he was beginning to regret coming at the first place,he regretted why he followed Mr Harrison and her daughter inside.

“Young man,I asked you a question, what do you do for a living? Because when I was your age, I had born all of my children,was doing well in the city of Lagos before circumstances ruined my life and everything I built from scratch, you as a young man coming up, what do you do for a living?” He asked,this time in a mild tone but with a very serious face.

Tony searched of what to say in his mind,but no idea came to his mind,he contemplated before he began speaking. He had only being able to start his poultry and fishery farm a month ago and he was still in his early stage.

“Sir, I'm a farmer, I rear poultry and fishes”

“Is that what you do for a living?” He asked Tony.

“Yes sir” Tony replied him.

“Good,good,if i may ask you,hope what you're doing can feed you, feed your woman and help you raise income to build a family?” He asked Tony,staring into his eyes.

“Sir,I don't have any woman with me and I'm still managing life to think about building my own family” Tony spoke.

“Then you should get ready to have a woman with you and start adjusting to have your own child and start becoming a man, because my daughter wouldn't be here with that stuff you deposited into her”

“Sir, is your daughter pregnant?” Tony asked, his fears was now confirmed, he knew for Esther's father to leave home with her daughter with intention of coming to his place wa linked to her being pregnant.

“Wait,you're asking me, when you were cuming in, you never knew she would get pregnant,right?”

“But Sir, are you sure she is pregnant for me, are you sure I'm the father of the child?” Tony asked in pretense,he quite knew Esther wasn't seeing another guy except him.

Mr Harrison laughed. Looked into Tony's eyes and began.

“I’m sure you don't know me, you have to enquire from people who i'm, you're asking me if my daughter is pregnant for you? Was I there when you were fu***ng her?” Mr Harrison asked with a serious face.

Tony didn't say anyword,he stayed calmed. Mr Harrison appeared like a no nonsense man to him from his manner of approach, Tony was ready to accept whatever his fate was going to be.

After a few couple of minutes in silence, Mr Harrison began.

“My daughter, I had plans of sending her to Lagos to write jamb next year and continue with her education over there, but since it has happened this way, thank God she isn't my only child and i wouldn't be involved in murdering an innocent child, so you have to marry my daughter, what do you have to say?” Mr Harrison managed to speak, words were heavy for him but hemanaged to say them,even as his words pierced his heart.

“Sir, i will marry her, if she agree, I will marry your daughter” Tony spoke fidgeting, he felt goosebumps ran over his body when he spoke.

“Why wouldn't she agree,she wouldn't agree to marry you but was opening legs for you, she must marry you and leave my house, no two ways let me know the cool headed ones I have at home”

“So young man, when are you coming with your People?” Mr Harrison added. he wanted to know how serious Tony could be.

“Sir, isn't my that so soon?” Tony asked shocked.

“What is so soon?, Oh to have s*x with my daughter wasn't so soon but to get your people now is so soon?, really?”

“No Sir, I will come with my people next month, I meant to to say” Tony spoke fidgeting.

“Young man, have being observing something from you, you're so irresponsible, I really pity my daughter whom left all young and responsible young men and went after you, you don't look like a man who has direction, whom is serious about life, you just look like an Ofeke” Mr Harrison spoke,his words pierced Tony's heart, especially being referred to as an Ofeke.

Tony almost wept,he held himself together not to let out the tears from his eyes, Mr Harrison stared at him from head to toe in a mockery way.

“I pray that hunger doesn't kill my daughter in your place,because I will have to take her from you and leave the child with you, in her father's place hunger isn't killing her and shouldn't kill her in her husband's place or else I will withdraw my daughter,she wasn't born into suffering.

Chapter Thirty-One

After the midwife left, Esther's parents came and met her in the bedroom where she was lying on the bed. her dad who was vexed broke to her that she was pregnant. For a moment Esther was broken; her fears coming to reality,she wished she had never listened to Tony when he told her it was stress, she wished she had listened to her instincts, now her dreams, her aspirations and plans of travelling to Lagos to further her education, we about to end before her. She wished she took it serious when she didn't see her menstrual cycle.

Esther's dad whom was very mad,asked her daughter who got her pregnant. Esther couldn't respond, at first she shed tears,she couldn't help it, she tried all possible to hold the tears but she couldn't, tears rolled from her eyes.

She was so ashamed of herself before her parents, she felt useless, what breaks her heart most, was that the dreams and plans her parents had for her was going to be paused. She would be forced to marry and live forever with Tony whom was barely surviving and had no stable income neither a direction of how is life could become better.

Tony was never the kind of guy, she wanted as her husband, she wept bitterly she wished she had some other guy he was making out with, another potential option she could peg her pregnancy on.but there was none, Tony happens to be the only guy he was seeing.

Esther wept bitterly, she couldn't believe the pleasure she has being receiving from Tony was gradually going to crumble her future right before her. she knew she would be asked of the man whom got her pregnant and when her parents locates the man,she quite knew it would be over, if her parents are to met Tony, there would be no hope of furthering school or building a better future and career.

Esther thought about the whole outcome and wept bitterly,she cursed the day she met Tony and agreed to be his girlfriend.

Esther dad wasn't taking it anylonger,he matched like a man being chased out from the bedroom to his bedroom where he got his matchet and walked back.

When he walked out from the bedroom,his wife was alarmed, She knew her husband over the past two decades, she knew with the way he walked out from the bedroom that he might probably come back with a machete or any weapon he has access. Immediately her husband walked out from the bedroom she tried to console her daughter, wanting to tell her to spilt out who got her pregnant, she was about to whisper to her daughter. when her husband matched into the bedroom with a Long machete in his left hand.

In a glimpse of an eye, Esther’s dad was already dragging her daughter, wanting to whip her all over her body with the cutlass His wife tried holding him back begging him to calm down that her daughter wanted to tell them the Truth.

Esther seeing how mad her dad was,knew she was finished if she doesn't tell the truth to her parents,it was her mom whom saved her from her dad, she knew she if not for her mom, her dad would have whipped her the machete he came with.

Esther with a shaky hands and voice narrated to her parents about Tony,how they mate and how everything eventually happened.

Her parents were disappointed in her, they felt like beating her,her mom didn't know when she gave her a resounding slap which sent her daughter to the bed holding her cheek,her mom was more angry now that her father was before, she asked Esther if that was how she was raised,she reminded Esther about the plans they had for her,to travel to Lagos by december,take jamb the following year and continue with her studies, she told Esther that the plans were no longer valid, she has to get married to her village boyfriend, whom she had choosed over her future.

Esther fett heartbroken when she heard this, her heart bleed when she heard her mom spoke to her in the manner she spoke for the very first time since she knew her, she left the tears to cascade freely from her eyes.

Esther’s dad was contemplating deeply, he was very disappointed of her daughter, immediately he heard from her, about whom got her pregnant he almost fainted, out of all the responsible young men living in the village,he couldn't believe the only guy Esther her daughter had choosen was Tony,

Whom he have heard people talk a lot about him, he heard Tony studied at University of Nigeria Nsukka, had a bad reputation when he was still in the city of Enugu before he was sent packing to the village. He got info from other reliable source that Tony was last born, all his elder siblings were living in the city. Information also crossed to his hearing one of the day's he went to drink at the bar, he heard from his friend that Tony was giving three millions by his siblings to start up a poultry business. But the money they contributed for him, Tony had eventually gone his way spending the money with a girl he was dating, only if he knew the girl people were talking about was her daughter Esther. He got to knew from his friend that day that, Tony brother’s were disappointed in him and had swore not to help him again. Mr Harrison couldn't believe this was the guy who got her daughter pregnant.

He came back from his memory lane and told his wife to relax her mind while he handles everything himself. He dropped the machete in his hand and asked Esther to get ready that they were going to Tony's house.

Esther was afraid but she couldn't object what her father told her, she got up from her bed walked to her wardrobe to get her slippers, while her parents walked out from her bedroom.

Esther and her dad were about to leave the compound through the gate when they jammed with Tony whom was peeping through the gates unawares that Esther and her dad were outside.

Mr Harrison smiled when he tapped the young man and coincidentally it was Tony, when he saw Tony, it seemed like God knew where he was going but choose to bring him anyway.

Chapter Thirty

After they were done making love, Tony got up from her; he walked to the bathroom and cleaned himself up. he came back to the bedroom after he was done and carried his food and ate. When he finished eating. Esther was dressed ready to leave; Tony took out Thirty thousand from the money in the envelope and gave to her.

She appreciated him, gave him a peck and started leaving with the food flask which was in a plastic blue bag.

It's being Five year's Tony had being in the village, he subsequently managed to build a poultry farm after squandering the money which his siblings contributed for him to start the poultry business.

What happened was that Tony never started a poultry farm after he was given the money. The following day after he got the money from his siblings, he went to Ogbo hill market in his village umunze, where he bought a stereo he would be using to play music, he went to the nearest mobile shop in the market and acquired a new phone for himself. He shopped some other things and came back home, the two grocery bags with him were loaded with what he bought from the market.

When he reached home, he met Esther, whom was waiting for him in front of the gate keeping a frown face. Tony was surprised for seeing her there, he wasn't expecting to see her that evening.

“Hope it's alright babygirl, why are you frowning your face like that?” Tony asked her coming closer to her,he transfered the grocery bag he was holding at his left hand to the right hand, inorder to touch her.

“Please, don't touch me, do you know how long i've being waiting for you here,like you keep me waiting for so long” Esther spoke angrily.

“But babe,you didn't tell me you were coming, how would I know you’ve being here waiting?” Tony spoke in a mild voice.

“Of course, you should know that I would be coming today,to bring for you food,or do you have anything else to eat, Oh I forgot you ‘ve money with you,you can go to mama put and eat a decent meal” Esther spoke, staring deeply into his eyes.

“Oh,why willi eat out when I've a good cooking chef and sweet babe like you, What did you bring for me today?” Tony asked her trying to switch the topic.

“I used the money you gave me yesterday to prepare white soup and cat fish for you, honestly you will love it” Esther spoke smiling, holding her two hands together in front of her, the blue plastic bag she was holding which contained the food flask was in her hand.

“That's my babe,let's go inside,I will give it to you first before I eat the food,i know it's very yummy” Tony spoke smiling at her lustfully.

“Let's go now, I can't wait to feel that thing inside me,but remember you will give me money today too” Esther reminded him, winking.

“Why not,i bought something for you let's go inside first” Tony spoke and spanking her buttocks.

The both of them got inside to have some adult bed time in Tony's bedroom. After they were done, Tony ate his food, gave Esther some of the things he bought for her in the market which included some mini skirts and gown. When Esther asked him why he bought her those kinds of outfits, when he knew that her parents won't allow her put them on under their roof, Tony told her that he wanted her to look very good in his eyes, that her dressing were old fashion. They deliberated about the clothes for a while, subsequently Esther agreed that she was going to put them on while coming to his place, later in the evening when Esther was about to leave, Tony gave her thirty thousand which she rejected complaining that the amount was too small and she wanted to cook another meal she would bring for him the next morning.

Tony felt devastated, he didn't know what to do,after Esther had threatened that she wouldn't come again, she called him names and promised to leave him for another man, Tony had no choice but to give in eventually, he gave her another Thirty thousand making it Sixty thousand.

He wasn't happy giving her that kind of money, he quite knew it was too much and Esther was intentionally trying to take advantage of him, The scenario reminds him of one of the girls he once dated in the university during his 300 level, The girl was exactly as Esther,same manner, same approach, naive but were clever and manipulative Whenever it comes to Money, Tony atimes whenever he was alone wondered whom the girl manipulated to start working at a shell company immediately after they graduated from university,he remembered dating the girl for two months,he really loved her and wanted to stop womanzing when he met her,but the girl seems not to want anything serious with him,she was a play girl in disguise.

Tony came back from his memory lane after Esther left his place, He sat quietly on the bed and began to think how he came about knowing Esther.

His manhood has always had a way of putting him in trouble and making him regret his life every time, Tony contemplated, he wept quietly, he was beginning to regret meeting Esther and the day she found out that he had a huge amount of money with him,only if she knew that the money was giving to him by his siblings to start a poultry farm.

Tony contemplated into the night, his mind was blank, he couldn't think straight,all he could think about was Esther, he wanted to come up with the best way to get rid of her but getting rid of her seemed more unfavourable to him. There was no one who would cook and prepare for him sumptuous meals, not like he can't cook but he believed women food taste differently. There was no one who would give him sxx like Esther, Esther was inexperienced though he didn't met her a virgin but she was inexperienced which made having s*x with her so much fun.

Tony thought breaking up with Esther might probably not help him in any way,, he chose to keep the relationship for the mean time, while he look for another option around. “But was that meant to be?

Two months later, Esther got pregnant for him,when she noticed that she didn't see her monthly period for that month,she complained to Tony about it, Tony told her to relax that it was probably stress and anxiety, he assured her that she would see it the next month.

Toby told her this from his past experience, from his previous relationships and s*xual encounters while in the university, he had had s*x and have being with women who have in one or two times missed their menstrual period, it eventually came out not pregnancy,most of the times it was stress or their hormones.

This scenario made Tony thought it was the same. Esther at first didn't believe him she was apprehensive, if her parents were to find out she was pregnant she was finished, her dreams was gradually going to pause, she was thinking of doing an abortion before her family gets to find out, Tony was never the kind of guy he wanted to marry, though he made her believe that he was working in an oil company but from her own observation Tony never studied petroleum engineering he claimed to have studied, She found out through his certificate one of the day's he was sleeping after a serious intimate that he studied computer science and he had never had a white collar job since he graduated from UNN.

Esther after her findings, was managing him till she eventually leaves the village to Lagos to continue with her education. The pregnancy seems to be a trap set on her way and if her parents get to find out she was doomed her travel to Lagos might be over and she would be forced to marry Tony whom had no ambition for himself.

She never wanted it that way,that was why she was very skeptical about her being pregnant, Tony assured her that she wasn't pregnant, She eventually believed Tony.

A month later. Esther got into a serious fever and headache which put her on the bed for more than five day's, her parents were worried, medications from the chemist shop was not doing any improvement, Esther dad had to beg the midwife to come and diagnose his daughter, pleading to pay her subsequently.

The midwife after she diagnosed Esther, assured her parents that she was getting better but they should stop giving her medication for fever that she was four months pregnant.

It has being six days, since Tony last saw Esther,he was beginning to get worried, he called her phone line almost everyday but her phone wasn't connecting,he was beginning to wonder if Esther had left the village, or was she avoiding him, Tony attempted many times but he wasn't getting through, all the messages he sent to her were all left unread,she hasn't being online since the day she last came to his place, Tony was worried, he contemplated if Esther was dead, he subsequently decided that he was going to visit Esther's abode to find out himself, he didn't care of the repercussion this time.

Chapter Twenty-nine

“Tony we have only come here Today, because Alex have told us everything, and we risked all the way from our comfort, just to be here because of you, as a family” He paused took a deep breath, stared at the faces of his siblings and continued.

“Tony, we want to ask you, what do you actually want to start doing? So we will know, how we can be of help to you as your family”

Tony was happy to hear this from Michael, he anxiously cleared his throat and began.

“I would like to start a poultry farm in the village”

“Tony don't you have any reason to go back to the City?” Michael asked him surprised.

“No, I don't want to go back now, I want to establish myself here first, I can go when ever after that”. Tony spoke.

“Ehhh, Tony…” Gift called him, she was shocked by Tony's response.

“Allow him, ahh” Paul had interrupted Gift. “Why are you bothering yourself ?” He wasn't able to build himself in the higher institution, now he wants to build in the village, poultry farm, Tony I'm disappointed” Paul added.

“Ehhhhii, Paul it's okay, we are not here to remind anyone of their past please” Micheal interrupted him.

“We aren't here to remind anyone of their mistakes, we are here to help out our younger brother and that is why we are here everything should stay out” Michael spoke.

He paused for about Twenty-seven seconds looking at his siblings,before he continued.

“So Tony you said you want to start rearing a poultry farm, how did you came about with the Idea?”

“Well… well… well … Tony stammered. “ It's lucrative” Tony concluded.

“Oh, just that it's lucrative, well are you sure you wanna do that?” Michael asked him looking into his eyes through his sun eyeglasses.

“Yes brother, that's definitely what i want to do, I would need like two million to venture into that business” Tony spoke confidently.

“Oh, Two million naira, that's good, but what about computer science? What about the course you studied in the university?”

Tony didn't like the question, it exposed him a lot,he felt uncomfortable and for a while he didn't know what should be his response, he wanted to respond but everything was going against him, he decided to keep mute.

“Tony you haven't answered me,I thought you studied Almighty Computer science, so why do you want to switch into Agriculture in the village, what happened to computer science and your certificate?” Michael asked him.

“Gbam” Paul agreed with him, clapped his both hands once.

“Tony you studied computer science, when you were in school I thought by the time you do graduate from school, you do be the one employing others,but we are here Today trying to give your life a direction” Paul added.

Tony kept quite, staring at the floor. He was so ashamed of himself, he wished his siblings could just forget the past and give him money to start up his poultry farm.

Alex cleared his throat for the first time and began.

“Michael, Paul, Gift” Alex called the three of his siblings.

“I understand what you guys are saying, in our family Tony was the fortunate one whom happens to attend the university, but we that didn't go to the university are realistically better than him, I remembered telling our dad those days, that he should forget sending Tony to higher institution and sending him to one of my friend's Collins, so Tony would learn plumbing and drilling but our Father insisted that Tony would be a graduate that he wanted a graduate in his household” Alex took a deep breath, before he continued.

“It's was never a bad idea for him wanting a graduate before he died, but I think whom we offered the opportunity missed used it”

“But that isn't what we are going to talk about Today, we are here Today to see how and know how we are actually going to help Tony, so let's put head together and do it,if not for him, but for the sake he is our brother, flesh and blood and,let's do it for the sake of our later father” Alex concluded.

“I hear you Alex, that's why we are here, like I spoke earlier, we are not here to judge anyone. But before we proceed with any financial assistance and support, we need to remind Tony of his ignorance and indiscipline, if we don't, he will think we are simply plucking our money from the trees” He coughed, while Alex took from there.

“Tony you said, you want to venture into poultry farm right?” Paul asked him,in a calm voice.

“Yes, I want to” Tony spoke nodding his head severally. Like a child being warned by her parents.

“Do you have any plans of moving back to the city?” Paul asked him.

“No, I have none for now, may be in the Future” Tony told them.

“What about marriage? Tony have you seen a girl, you will like to marry, let it be that it's money that is keeping you from marrying her?” He asked Tony, looking carefully at his facial expression.

Tony scratched his head with his left hand, the first person that came on his mind was Esther, He couldn't tell why, but he was the only girl he was seeing at the time though he didn't have any intention of settling with her.

“Brother don't reach that side now, Tony should first step up as a man before he thinks of getting married” That was Gift.

“He should handle his life well and maturely, before he thinks of a woman, I can't advise any girl, not even my enemy's daughter to marry someone like Tony” Gift concluded.

Tony was embarrassed, he bowed his head in shame and regrets, the scenes and his adventures in school flashed on his mind like a movie flashback, he wept bitterly silently, this was exactly how is destruction started.

“Paul please,let's not take thing's too far from here, this wasn't among our initial plan for coming here, so let's handle what we came here for” Michael spoke.

The rest of the meeting went well, everyone agreed to give Tony the sum of three million, before they left that evening. The four siblings contributed and gave Tony three million in cold cash.

Tony was excited when he got inside the sitting room after they have left, seeing the money in cold cash inside an envelope gave him so much Joy and assurance.

He was beginning to question his decision of whether he should open a poultry farm or start some other business with the money, he was still thinking when the door flew open.

He wanted to hide the money,his heart almost skipped, thinking it might be a thief. But it was already late to hide the money from the intruder..

When he turned back,he saw Esther standing at the door.

Tony was both happy and mad at her, he was happy he saw the food flask on her hand, she still cared to come and bring for him food, although he warned her not to bring for her food that day. On the other hand he was mad at her for many reasons, why she had come when he he told her the previous evening not to come on Sunday, he was also mad because he wondered how she gained access into l the compound and opening the sitting room entrance door. That actually meant one thing he had left the gates open, especially the smaller one.

“Ahh, Tony where did you get all of that money from, were they the ones that bring the money for you?” Esther asked Tony, dropping the food flask beside the door and walking to where he was sitting on a wooden chair.

“How did you come into the compound?” Tony asked her, putting on a serious face, but that didn't move Esther.

“You left the smaller gate open, and you're asking me how i gained access ? You must be joking” Esther spoke, giggled. She was about to take the Envelope from Tony, Tony shrugged her aside.

“But I told you, not to come today, didn't i ?” Tony asked her in a very vexed tone.

“I see” She spoke standing akimbo and looking at Tony for a while. “ You knew that your business partners were coming Today and they were definitely going to come with fund's that was why you told me not to come,so you can hide your funds from me, this man you're a bad person” Esther spoke beating Tony playfully.

“But why don't you listen to what, I said , I said you should not come Today” Tony shouted dropping the envelope on his hand to the ground.

Esther seeing how vexed he was, tried to calm him down, she walked closer to him hugged him in a tight embrace and began singing songs to him. Tony for a while his heart melted he took the envelope he dropped on the floor, he asked Esther to get a food flask so they could go inside the bedroom.

Esther went and got it and followed him from behind, they entered the bedroom while Esther locked the door.

Tony kept the envelope on the night stand beside the bed, he wanted to collect the food flask from Esther, he was famished and haven't eating since morning.

He wanted to collect the flask but Esther declined on a condition that they would make love before he would eat. Tony agreed. a hungry man is a man without option.

They were on the heat of it, Tony was hammering away, while Esther lied on the bed with her back,her legs spread she moaned softly out of intense pleasure. She whispered to Tony's ear asking him, if his business partners were the ones that brought the cash for him. Tony affirmed that it was them and continued hitting it hard. A response that subsequently caused him his entire future.
