MOSQUITOES

Mosquitoes are commonly known as vectors for malaria. Female mosquitoes are the ones who bite, they bite mainly for reproduction. This is because they need protein for developing their eggs,while the male mosquitoes feed on nectars of plants and flowers.

Mosquitoes bite people for various reasons, and sometimes it seems like they bite some people more than others. Here are few of the reasons why they do so;

-Mosquitoes prefer certain blood types; people with blood types O and AB are more attractive to mosquitoes.
-Mosquitoes are attracted to carbon dioxide; The more you exhale the more attractive you become, but please you can still breathe.
-Mosquitoes are attracted to body heat; They are good at sensing a slight change in temperature.
-Mosquitoes like sweat; Mosquitoes can perceive sweat, and they like the compounds contained in the sweat.
-Mosquitoes can spot darker clothes quickly; this makes you easier to spot if you're on dark clothes.
With all this being said, it is best to prevent the presence of mosquitoes in our home, to make it a safer place to stay.

-You have to get rid of any stagnant water that's not in use for more than 3 days.
-Make sure there are no excess grasses around,and if there is, it should be low.
-Use insect repellents
-Plants like lemon grass also repels insects
