Job Title: Lab Chemist (Distillery/Sugar Industry)
Location: Edo State

Position Summary:
The Lab Chemist is responsible for ensuring the quality of processes and products by conducting laboratory tests, maintaining quality control standards, and implementing Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs). The role requires coordination with cross-functional teams to maintain compliance with industry standards and optimize production efficiency.

Job Responsibilities:
• Verify the availability of analytical reagents required for testing, ensure equipment readiness, maintain hygiene practices, and oversee manpower availability based on the production plan.
• Conduct assigned analytical tests in the laboratory and promptly report any issues related to tests, equipment, or results to the Shift In-Charge / Production Head.
• Follow all Quality Assurance/Quality Control procedures as outlined in the Laboratory Quality Assurance Manual.
• Perform administrative tasks such as receiving samples, recording analytical results, entering data into the system, and documenting QA/QC requirements.
• Apply knowledge of microbiology and chemistry in sampling and testing processes.
• Provide on-the-job training to existing and new personnel as required.
• Participate in investigations for market complaints and out-of-specification issues.
• Ensure compliance with Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) and maintain regulatory compliance.
• Coordinate with cross-functional teams to ensure materials and process requirements align with budget plans.
• Actively participate in preventive maintenance and safety-related activities.
• Follow written and oral instructions accurately and comply with directives.
• Perform other duties as assigned by management.

Minimum Qualifications & Experience:
• Educational Qualification: Bachelor’s / Master’s Degree in Sciences.
• Experience: Minimum 3 years of experience in the Distillery or Sugar Industry as a Lab Chemist.
