Over 50% of Nigerian trained doctors work overseas. This is because their wages and working conditions is declining everyday.

So rather than coming close to expected number of doctors, we're continually losing the ones we have to foreign country.

As we write, 70% of resident doctors said they will travel out if they have the opportunity.

As at 2017, NMA said "the nation needs 303,333 medical doctors now and 10,605 new doctors annually to provide good quality patient care.”
