Scammers can steal/get access to your passwords if they have access to your clipboard.

Clipboard is where the text or things you copy/cut stays until you paste them where you want.

So to prevent this, deny website access to your clipboard in your web browser settings ASAP.

Google Chrome:
Go to settings > privacy and security > site settings > permissions > expand additional permissions (at the bottom) > clipboard

Mozilla Firefox:
Blocks this by default

For other browsers, check their privacy and security, and do well to block it.
