2025/2026 ADMISSIONS
The University of Uyo invites candidates who made the University their 1st Choice in the 2025/2026 JAMB Unified Tertiary Matriculation Examination (UTME) and had a minimum score of 150 to apply for screening. Also, candidates who made the University their 1st Choice in the 2025/2026 JAMB Direct Entry application are equally invited for screening exercise.
Candidates are also invited for admission into BASIC STUDIES, POSTGRADUATE AND SCHOOL OF CONTINUING AND PROFESSIONAL PROGRAMMES

1. Accessing the admissions portal
 Visit https://eportals.uniuyo.edu.ng/
 Click on “Admission’s Portal” or go directly to https://admissions.uniuyo.edu.ng/
 Click on Apply Now
 For first-time users, “click on “Create Account”
 Fill in the required information
 Submit and verify your email to activate your account
2. Login and Complete Payment via Remita Platform
 Navigate to the “Application Fee” section
 Select the Application Type
 Generate a Remita Retrieval Reference (RRR) for the application fee
 Make payment online or at bank branches with the RRR
 After successful payment, return to the portal and confirm your payment
3. Complete Application Form
 Navigate to the “Application Form” section
 Click “Start New Application”
 Fill in required information
 Upload Required Documents in PDF
 Submit the completed Form
4. Print Acknowledgement Slip
 Printout the 2025/2026 Screening Exercise Slip

ASUU threatens action over stalled renegotiation with FG

The Academic Staff Union of Universities (ASUU) has expressed deep frustration over the prolonged lack of progress in its renegotiation with the Federal Government on critical issues affecting university education in Nigeria. Speaking in Jos on Sunday, ASUU President Prof. Chris Piwuna declared that the union is “tired of words and promises”, emphasizing that seven years of discussions have yielded no concrete action.

ASUU's demands, rooted in the 2009 agreement, include improvements in conditions of service, university autonomy, academic freedom, sustainable funding, and earned academic allowances. Piwuna stressed that these unresolved issues continue to fuel infrastructural decay, staff demoralisation, cultism, and a decline in education quality.

He also called for inclusive salary reviews that extend to non-teaching staff, to promote harmony and stability within the university system.

Warning of possible consequences, Piwuna stated that the government must be ready to face the fallout of its inaction, leaving uncertainty over the future of university education in the country if the deadlock persists.
