My conversations revolve around faith, art, culture, technology & their intersection. Is it about Nigeria? It definitely concerns me.

With the "condemn" (scrap) industry raking in billions, "reverse japa" according to Yen C. will be a thing in the near future, especially for chip designers. Here's how:

In Nigeria, the quantity and quality of tech talent has increased over the years, with thriving ecosystems supporting their existence. "Tech" in Nigeria is often related to software products which run on computers. Those computers are made of chips, and chips are made of metals.

In Japan, a round sum of JPΒ₯ 5 trillion (U$D 30.96 billion) has been invested in developing semiconductors alone. In the US, the Biden-Harris administration proposes chip investment of up to U$D 750 million to support the construction of the world's largest silicon carbide ecosystem.

Nigeria can join the train of the neo-Indian industrial revolution by placing herself as a competitor in the chip exportation industry, albeit a minor player.

We've proven innovative capacity in developing and exporting software products like Intron Health's Intron Transcribe. We can do the same with computer hardware. This will not only plunge the cost of mobile technology and increase affordability but will create more employment opportunities, providing more diverse career paths to explore in-country: we're talking about new OS's, smartphones, electronic equipment (even if unpackaged), chip design, software/hardware technology research, AI resources provisioning, and balanced equipment importation.

To be a true technology exporter will require ownership of hardware resources, and investing in microchip manufacturing is the way forward. While the nation's beaches are rich in Silicon dioxide, the "condemn" business looks like a promising starting point.

ChatGPT for AI Content Detection 09/10/2024

Good morning here πŸ‘‹πŸ½

There's been much concern around differentiating human from AI content. Various tools have been developed to this purpose.

In this article, I share about an experiment I conducted on ChatGPT to assess its capability for recognizing AI generated content.

Here is what I found: https://blog.stackademic.com/chatgpt-for-ai-content-detection-8cf8158a5723
