The Special Assistant to the Governor on Education Monitoring, Pastor Ekponobong Moswill, in his routine weekend visit to Schools, engaged the staff of Model Primary School, Afaha Itam in Itu LGA, in an inspiring conversation immediately after the commissioning of the school yesterday.

He told them that it is after the commissioning of the school that schooling actually begins, just as marriage actually begins after the marriage ceremony.

He reminded them that the Model School facility is a blessing with responsibility, "for to whom much is given, much is expected!"

What makes a school a model is not just facilities, but quality and attitude of teachers there.
He admonished them to uphold the prescribed teacher-student ratio,and teach the pupils passionately, not just to cover the syllabus, but to have them understand.

In his words he said "Don't owe any child the required transfer of knowledge. Treat them all nicely as our future great leaders, and lets deliberately complement the effort of His Excellency, our dear Governor, Pastor Umo Bassey Eno PhD, and the Hon. Commissioner for Education."

The head teacher of the school, Mrs Victoria Richard Nyong and all the teaching staff of the school were glad to have the SA spend extra time to give them his wise counsel and guidance.

The Special Assistant to the Governor of Akwa Ibom State on Education Monitoring, Pastor Ekponobong Moses Umoh and his team on Monday, 2nd of June 2025, visited Government Technical College, Abak.
On arrival, the team observed the tranquility and serenity of the school premises.
The SA extensively inspected the school facilities to see their state and the progress of the different departments available in the college, as led by the Principal and the Vice Principal Academic.
At the workshops visited, he emphasized on continuous production, that the children should be involved in termly production of items that are of daily demands, as the school would eventually play her role as an active production hub in the state in the future.
He praised the Teachers who were all well dressed, for their significant role and advised them not to allow any knowledge gap to exist between them and the students.
He also charged them saying; "see the teaching job as a calling, as some of you were manipulated by God into teaching; now you are functioning in your area of calling, so you should be satisfied in that reality.
The Government is helping you to fulfill your divine assignment, just like Pharaoh's daughter paid Moses' Mother to do her divine assignment - caring for her own child . So don't teach just to cover the syllabus, but to transfer knowledge. For the best job to do on earth is teaching."
The Students of the college were also challenged to make good use of the opportunity given to them by the Government, so that they may become valuable members of the State.
Finally, the Principal, on behalf of the School, extended thanks through the SA to His Excellency, the Governor of Akwa Ibom State,for his care for teachers and Akwa Ibom Children. She promised to do her best with her team, for the development of the Students under their care.
