The Cost of Waiting

Mr. Alfred is proud of his new home in Uyo. But every night, the story was the same—blackouts, noisy generator and ₦100,000 swallowed weekly by fuel. His children struggled with homework and the family sweated through hot, powerless nights.

Years ago, his neighbor Mrs. Ini installed solar. Alfred had laughed: “Too expensive! I’ll wait till prices drop.” Today, while her home shines quietly with cool fans and steady power his house depends on endless noise from generators. Last month, the community transformer was burntout and permanent darkness surfaced, his family sat in darkness for three days—charging phones at Ini’s home.

The truth? What Alfred thought was “saving money” had cost him millions in fuel, stress, and lost peace of mind.
Friends, Solar isn’t just an investment. It’s freedom. It’s comfort. It’s the future.

Don’t wait for the next blackout. Invest in Solar today with GAL Systems — reliable power, affordable packages, and peace of mind that starts now, not tomorrow.

December provides a peaceful time to stop, think and let go of things that no longer serve us. It is a perfect time for new beginnings, fresh perspectives, and a renewed sense of purpose.
At GAL, we trust that you will consider trashing your electricity bills and going solar in preparation for the festivities ahead.

A Homeonwer asked:
Why is it that anytime it rains thunder always damage my inverter and I have a thunder protector on my roof?

There are several reasons why your inverter may still get damaged during thunderstorms even with a lightning protector on your roof:

1. Indirect Lightning Strikes: While the lightning protector is designed to direct the electrical current from a direct strike away from sensitive equipment, it's not always effective against indirect strikes. Indirect strikes occur when lightning hits nearby objects and travels through power lines or other conductive surfaces into your home.

2. Surge Voltage Propagation: Even if the lightning doesn't directly hit your property, voltage surges caused by nearby strikes can propagate along power lines and cause damage to connected devices such as inverters.

3. Poor Installation/Connection Quality:
If there are any loose connections between the lightning protection system and grounding wire, they might fail to redirect all of the surge energy effectively.

Improper installation or inadequate sizing of components could also lead to insufficient protection levels for specific types of surges (e.g., high-frequency transients).

4. Overrated Surge Protection Devices: Some surge protectors marketed as "lightning-proof" may not provide sufficient protection against high-energy discharges associated with severe thunderstorms.

To minimize risk:

👍Ensure that you have an appropriately sized & installed lightning protection system specifically designed for protecting electronic equipment.

👍Regularly inspect both external & internal wiring systems for signs of wear or damage.

👍Keep important electronics off during storms by unplugging them or using separate surge protected outlets.

👍By taking these precautions, you can significantly reduce the likelihood of damage due to lighting-induced surges affecting sensitive electronic devices like inverters.
