Why do some men always say that only weak men forgive a cheating wife?

She even had a daughter with this other man, and Bob Marley shrugged his shoulders and decided to raise the girl, Stephanie, as his own. His reasoning being that he had a lot of girlfriends, too, and was anything but faithful… having had several children outside of marriage with other women, he could accept Rita’s infidelity. Stephanie ended up getting full rights to his estate, same as his many biological children, and he never treated her any differently.

Was Bob Marley a “weak man”? I wouldn’t call him that, at all… because he was a man with options, countless options. And men with options can afford to be generous and forgiving. It is only when a man forgives a woman because he feels he has to forgive her, because he feels he has no other options if he lost her, that he can be labeled weak. Weakness is a state of mind. It comes from a mindset of abundance versus a scarcity mindset. When infidelity is one-sided, one side holds all the power, all the leverage, and the other side feels like it is chasing something it cannot attain — the undivided attention and devotion of a partner that doesn’t belong to you, but to the streets.

When it comes to determining whether or not to label a man “weak”, I say look at the dynamics of the relationship and the type of man we’re dealing with, first. A man whose wife cheats on him while he remains faithful and then forgives her anyway, even multiple times? Pretty weak. A man who is, himself, a cheater, and then gets cheated on and simply shrugs his shoulders because part of him just goes: “Well, that’s fair I guess…” Not the same thing at all.
