Never get used to standing on the pulpit and teaching God’s people unprepared. When you have spent a lot of time in ministry, it might be easy for you to pick up any passage of the scripture and flow. This must never become a habit or your lifestyle.
Ensure before any preaching/teaching opportunity you spend time on the following:
1. In adequate study of the word
2. Prayer preparation, you have studied well but pray like you did not study especially pray for utterance to use the right words, the right examples and to keep pace with the Holy Spirit
3. Give yourself time to rest and meditate on the word. The Holy Spirit has some “last minute” input and insight.
Focus on the depth of your preparation, God will take care of the rest (The spread, the conviction, the impact, and the reach).
