😫😫😫😫
I find it difficult to share my struggles with people I consider friends. Why? Because when I do, there’s a certain level of care and concern I naturally expect. Maybe that expectation exists because I know I would show up for you the same way, no matter how overwhelmed I am.
The moment your response falls below that expectation, regardless of the explanation, I gradually stop telling you things. Not out of anger, but because silence removes expectation. If you don’t know what I’m going through, then I won’t find myself hoping for something you may not be willing or able to give.
Personally, I have never asked for care, attention, love, or sacrifice from anyone if I wouldn’t willingly offer the same in return. So it’s not blind entitlement; it’s an expectation built on reciprocity.
If I stop sharing things with you, it simply means that when I once did, the response didn’t meet me where I needed it to. And rather than keep expecting, I choose to stop depending.
Share if this resonates with you.
