HealthNet TPO

In 2024, HealthNet TPO’s work in Afghanistan was a testament to what is possible through local leadership and resilience. Across 18 diverse projects, we reached more than 5.2 million people with vital healthcare and psychosocial services, in some of the most remote areas of the country.
These results were made possible thanks to our 4,176 local colleagues, who brought medical care and mental health support to their communities.

Among these achievements was our Eye Care Programme, through which we perform over 5,000 cataract surgeries each year. Supported by the Fred Hollows Foundation, this work is restoring sight, dignity, and hope to thousands of people.

In 2024, HealthNet TPO’s work in South Sudan included 5 major projects. We reached 675,000 people, many of whom live in areas affected by conflict and displacement.

Our 87 local colleagues ensured access to healthcare, mental health, and psychosocial services, training more than 2,100 individuals to carry this work forward in their own communities. Through mental health workers, we helped build a local network of support that will last beyond our direct involvement.

Colombia's journey toward healing continues, and in 2024, HealthNet TPO supported 335 women as they navigated the impact of gender-based violence and worked toward recovery through mental health and psychosocial support (MHPSS).

Though our team counted just 7 local colleagues, their impact was wide-reaching. They led 106 training sessions stemming from mental health support, strengthening local capacity, and building resilience, one conversation at a time.

For many, our programmes offered not only services but also a space to share common experiences and learn from each other. We are proud to have helped create spaces where healing is not only possible, but sustainable.

In 2024, our work in Burundi focused on what matters most, health. Through 3 key projects, we reached 106,000 people, bringing health and psychosocial services to local communities and refugees.

Our 153 local colleagues played a central role in offering care where it is most needed. In refugee camps, we supported over 2,000 safe deliveries, ensuring mothers and babies received skilled assistance. Beyond numbers, our work meant ensuring that families could welcome their children safely, and that support, nutrition, and wellbeing were maintained.
